A perfectly good goal being disallowed isn't really great for the game either is it? Particularly with the ramifications of that goal.

The ref couldn't see from his angle, and the linesman was the other side of the pitch with the goalposts blocking his view.

So the criticism from some was that the goal was scored, the ref made sure the goal was legit, it was, the goal was awarded.

Out of all the things to be annoyed at VAR about, this is PRETTY low down.

The good thing about the law is that it's the outer edge of the line that counts, so it doesn't matter how wide it is

Not really as the line could be inside of the line painted. The width of the line is irrelevant really.

This is such a weird thing to argue the toss over. It's one area where VAR gets it right and STILL people think their opinion is more important.
