Soccer is the second most played sport in the USA (after baseball), it is the 4th most watched sport, it's television viewing figures continue to rise. and its league is in the top 10 in the world - a 29-team league averaging 23,000 (for comparison, Italy's 18 team Serie A averages 24,000).

There is nothing noddy about the state of US soccer these days. It's not 1997 anymore.

I like their workrate but they are desperately lacking in quality. Look organised and well drilled, didn’t think they were that terrible against England in fairness. We just played really well.
