OH YES

so here we go, the knock out stages

first up

ITALIAN VS JAPANESE

Perhaps one of the most one sided quarter finals but still two GREAT contenders. Japanese has to be the underdog but who knows...

here's a couple of Italian and Japanese DISHES to whet your appetite

its looking like a walkover !

i thought it might be. trouble with japanese food in europe is its all ultra trendy, very expensive. the variety and quality of food in japan is amazing. ironically, they also do some of the best italian food i (and an italian i know) have ever had

Yup, sorry, never been a fan of japanese food.

However, pizza is best made in america (brooklyn specifically) and i'm not a massive fan of pasta but if you eat fish in Italy it is always superbly cooked.

It's gotta be Italian, I just love my pasta and pizza (thin crust mind, none of that deep pan rubbish)

I disagree but seeing as I love both of them perhaps better than any other cuisine I'm not getting drawn into a kitchen slanging match.

its just a shame one of them has to lose

anyway, this has been totally one sided but tomorrow we have a MAMMOTH tie

INDIAN VS BRITISH

Maybe familiarity breeds contempt but after living in Italy for ages I'm only too happy to try out non-Italian cuisine and Japanese is a particular favourite.

Voted Japanese and will be heading there for the first time in August

I voted Japanese but only because I thought the scoreline sounded a bit harsh on them.

Japanese is nice, but Italian just has so much flair...

As I am currently roasting some garlic bulbs and tomatos for my special pasta sauce it would be foolish of me not to vote Italian
