Why is it that athletics always manages to shoot itself in the foot. Dreadful
timing and lack of discretion towards an 18 year old in her first major
championship. Respect to her retaining grace under pressure and taking gold.

I remember a bit of inuendo about Maria Mutola when she first came on the
scene which proved to be rubbish

Brilliant run by Jenny Meadows

Apparently she sounds like a bloke and obviously looks quite a bit like one too, but I agree with those who say it's disgraceful the IAAF have released this before anything's proven. Even if she is found to be genetically a man, it's not her fault and although it is unfair on the other athletes, it's not cheating as she was probably pretty convinced she was a woman until a few days ago.

I have to say I feel sorry for her with this debate being held world-wide in public. Apparently she could have some medical condition where she has the gentialia of a woman (and they used to physically check in the old days), but the genetic make-up of a man. Leaving aside athletics how does she manage socially? She should move to Brighton; not only would she fit in with the 'Pride' crowd but with her pace she could be the answer to our midfield problems ...

The democratic and free EU
Strraightforward test - ask her to walk past a series of shoe shops, without going in.

Simples.

Good call. Alternatively, show her two different cushions and ask which one she prefers. If she has an opinion, she's a she.
