Yup - I'm on nights.

I have the Christmas Eve night shift, so finish up for the set at 0600 on Christmas morning.

So home, sleep, turkey, presents, in that order.

Christmas day is not an official public holiday so employers can if they wanted insist on staff working christmas day. It is a goodwill holiday, religious festival, but with tradition most employers adhere to it. I was surprised when I learnt this years ago as training on employment law. Boxing day is a public holiday however.
Our family always celebrate Christmas on Boxing day as my Granny & Granda were married on this day & my older brother born on same date so we have a chilled out Christmas day & all get together for Boxing day.

Just thought I'd share that.

She's hoping the traffic wardens WON'T be working as that should make her job a little less stressful.

Christmas Day is the ONLY day there aren't parking restrictions enforced.

I won't be working Christmas Day, but would have happily worked all day if they did open, for the right finances of course.
