Where is yours, do you pay for it or does the company pay for it, do you get time off, and are you looking forward to it or dreading it?

Tomorrow night, swanky restaurant in Yeovil and then hit the town after, works put up the bill which is a great effort although numbers attending have been dwindling each year as the millennial as particularly don’t seem to attend them.

Mines on the 13th Dec. There was a poll and I chose only one day that I could attend, this being the day that least others could make.
Unfortunately they've selected the day I couldn't make...
I suffer the bellends with good humor at work and there are a few that I genuinely like. I'm not interested in socialising on mass with bellends so now try to give such occasions a miss.

On the 6th in Guildford, fully paid by the company including hotels, combined with an all day meeting therefore unless you're on leave you have to attend. Then following week another in Bath with the sales team again fully paid. This one can be a little more strained for me as the team are easily half my age and by about 10pm I've had enough and they've just started. They all call me dad!

Ours is next week, my employers aren't allowed to pay for or contribute towards it, and no I'm not going.

Yes in Reading. All paid for (food and drink) and hotel paid for. 50/50 if I’ll go and will need to see who else is

We don't have an official one but we used to go to the pub last day before Christmas before shutdown.

Luckily, working in a factory we have a good group here with no bellcheeses as such and have a good working environment which is unusual.

Since the birth of my daughter 4 years ago I haven't been going as prefer to spend time at home.

If the last day at work is Christmas eve it also stops me waking up on Christmas day with a raging hangover.

Going for a meal and a few drinks on the 15th. All paid for.

Few of us meeting up beforehand so there’s a real chance we’ll all be plastered by the time the meal actually roles around which won’t go down too well.

:drink:

Mine is in London in a couple of weeks. Company puts £35 in per head. I've not been for years as I cannot be arsed with 4 hours travelling for a few pints.

All paid for by the company but they've made it fancy dress, I'm sure to reduce numbers. It worked, I won't be going.

So they are all bellends and you’re not? I would look at myself if I thought that everyone that I work with were like that. Your company also employed you so I would think that you fit the type that they are looking for. I’m not calling you a bellend, but it’s strange isn’t it?

Next Friday night, first time for an Oz employer, mostly paid for I believe. This is a year for sitting back and making sure I am much less of an arse than those around me, should be enlightening!

Might go to Greggs and get a sausage roll if I'm feeling festive ! On the other hand I may not . . .

We have two. One is a company party in a venue somewhere on the last afternoon before we break up. The company pay for that. We also have one which is the two departments on our floor all going out for a drink and a bite to eat; the participants all pay for that themselves.

I'm not going to either. Nor am I in the Secret Santa. And no, I don't hate Christmas, far from it, it's just that whilst I like my colleagues I don't want to socialise with them.

EDIT: Before people think I'm a complete anti-social git I would like to point out that I AM going out with my ex-colleagues from where I used to work!

I’ve been invited to my client’s party, it’s in the Gherkin. Their paying for the food and drink, but not my time. Yes, looking forward to it.
