You must have been near me then as I was behind them and along 3 seats - bloody pathetic

So people try to go along and have a bit of laugh and get behind the team. At least yesterday it was something different rather than the usual rubbish of the awful 'In your northern slums...', 'You're just a small town...'

To label supporters pathetic for getting behind the team defies belief. I thought some Albion fans were moaners but this really is a low

Oh come on it was cringeworthy to say the least and as some of you lot are TSLR I suspect you are trying to impose your position on this just like the moral high ground two years ago at Huddersfield.

Why not try and co-ordinate something sensible through the club ?

Maybe some of it was cringeworthy but as I stated above we were there to have a bit of a laugh and get behind the team. Sadly I never grew up following the Albion at the Goldstone, only known the Withdean and am now exiled. I remember my first away game and the atmosphere being brilliant - sadly it seems like that atmosphere has slowly ebbed away over the last few years (with a few exceptions) so I apologise for being part of trying to ignite some sort of spark even it is cringeworthy. (Yes I know the above sounds like some sort of sob story but I'm passionate about my support for the Albion)

I'm fairly sure we were not offending anyone but I'm not sure being labelled pathetic for supporting my team as much as anyone elses is entirely warranted.

Here's a song I'm pretty sure used to get sung by us regularly away in the late 70s and early 80s, to the tune of Those Were The Days by Mary Hopkin. Yeah, I know - a bit of nostalgia-fest and some of you will have watch the clip below to discover the tune, but it sounded good at the time. Anyone remember it?

The following words work pretty well but others may pipe up who remember them more accurately:

"Those were the days my friend, we thought they'd never end
We'd sing and dance, forever and a day
We live the life we choose, we fight and never lose
For we are Brighton, and we win away ...
La la la la la la etc"

We signed a boy from sunny Spain, hurrah, hurrah.
His nose looks like an aeroplane, hurrah, hurrah.
Whether Catalan or Basque,
He should be forced to wear a mask.
Fran Sandaza, Brighton's number nine.

Do I win a prize?

The lad has got a massive cock, Enoch, Enoch,
He tucks it in his football sock, Enoch, Enoch,
He shagged a girl and now she's dead,
He waves his cock around his dead,
Enoch Showumni, United's 21.

Leeds

His neck scar proved he lost his head, Tevez, Tevez,
You'll never shag a sexy bird, Tevez, Tevez
You ugly twat, your Argie c**t,
They've sewn your head on back to front
Carlos Tevez, Herman Munster head.

Man U/Man City - I forget which one.

Sad to say the best versions of this song have well and truly been taken.

f*** me, 2 years on and you are still going on about one misguided post on NSC which in general has absolutely NOTHING to do with the fanzine.

As someone who likes to prove how much they love the club at every occassion, I would have thought you, along with most, would appreciate any attempt at creating some new songs for our players. If you honestly find that song more cringeworthy that shit like 'you're just a small town in [nowhere anywhere near]', "Do, do, do, do [any player with 4 syllables]" or "There's only one [ANY player in the world]" then I am quite shocked.

I'm not saying the Calderon song is perfect, but the point is, if no one tries to sing anything new we will carry on being the most unimaginative team in the league, with apprently only one song that anyone can sing along to ("Albiooooooooooon, Albiooooooooon", nicked off the Scousers). And KNC calling someone a 'monkey' for singing a chant. Jesus. christ.

I think people are being a bit too dewy-eyed about the old North Stand here. I don't remember loads of complicated chants - just a wider variety of fairly simple one-liners, or 3 or 4 lines at most. It's always going to be something easy that will catch on during a big win and get a lot of people singing. The one that's really missed is the old, much more passionate and excited version of 'Albion' rather than the dirge we're now lumbered with.

Were you at the United Of Manchester away game?...They were trying to hand out song-sheets at that one and I am not joking!!! We do have some decent songs but if we are going to get more going then we should at least make them a little more original instead of re-hashing every other teams chants...Much like what the United Of Manchester fans have done.

I mean there are loads of clubs that sing that terrible 'Sloop John B' and there are some that want us to adopt! I was at Vicarage Road last season to watch Watford v West Brom and both sets of supporters were singing it...But then in a complete surprise and with some excellent originality the West Brom fans starting singing 'The Lord Is My Shepherd' which sounded great.

See people, we do not need just to copy everyone else, we too, can be original.

Albion & England forever.

Exactly, Why do we have to just copy every other teams? Why cant we just make one up ourselves. That songs sounds utter shite, it sounded good when Liverpool started it with Torres but are we really so uncreative we have to copy it?

New songs and lyrics can be talked about on here till the cows come home, but until someone actually takes them to games and has a go were going to be stuck with the same boring and mundane chants that we sing now.

Beach Hut give us a song, Beach Hut Beach Hut give us a song.....SSSSSHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH.

Exactly this. People complained about the original Calderon song, so we made another one. People still complain. I am a friend of the people handing out the song sheets and I am not sure about a lot of the songs but at least we make the effort. Too many people who support this club just moan about everything.

You want people to sing, but you do not want them to sing songs you do not like. It is beyond retarded that a group of people who follow the Albion all over the country and try and create an atmosphere get labelled as an embarrassment. The only embarrassment is the people who just sit on their arses moaning about other Albion fans.

It may have been a misguided post that started that binfest (and the attempts at backtracking) that followed 2yrs ago. The underlying intention however was to publish a false account of the behaviour of those involved (who were/are involved with the fanzine). To me that showed they were (1) embarrassed about their antics and abuse of fellow fans that day and (2) aware that the true account might impact sales of said periodical.

Therefore to state 'absolutely NOTHING' is misleading (in my opinion).
