Worcs: 383 all out

Adding 231 for the last 5 wickets and leading by 128 on first innings. More than enough.

The only ray of light on a gloomy day for Sussex, Ollie Robinson 29.5-4-84-5 :clap2:

England scouts reportedly watched him in last CC match, don’t want to lose him to England for 2nd half of summer as well as Archer.

We won't lose him AND Archer. Anderson, Broad and Curran are all in position with Wood and Archer in the wings. The only way that he'd lose Jofra and Ollie is if there were a glut of injuries. And even then, Overton and Porter may be ahead of Robinson in the pecking order.

Next season, however, may be a different story: Broad will have gone and Anderson will be nearly 40. I also think that Curran is really a batsman who bowls. There may well be some vacancies then

It's great that his efforts are being noticed, but as you say an England call up is a bit of a double edged sword for the county.

This pair need to bat through to lunch to give us a chance of saving this game

Currently 266–6, lead of 137, minimum 81 overs left in the day.

What do people reckon we need to secure the draw, another 80+ or so, patiently eked out so Worcs don't have the overs required to get much over 200?

Another couple of dozen and all three results are possible

These two need to bat for about 20 to 30 minutes more. Worcs must still be favourites for this but a few decent overs after lunch could make a draw look likely. I can't see Sussex getting anywhere near winning this though, there's no indication that the pitch is cracking up

Thomason has slotted in perfectly to the Sussex lower order - wicketless with the ball, but has outscored our combined top 4 with the bat.
