Obviously vegster and brunswick are in a higher orbit than this particular bear of very little brain.

I thought it was very interesting and full of new information and clear explanations of things I half-knew.

I'm looking forward to the next one, and may well watch the first one again - just to make sure I got it!

I watched this sat with a daughter who is off to read Physics at Oxford this October so ignorant comments from thick Dads weren't the order of the day.

I'd always thought that the dust and stuff from dead and exploded stars would eventually gravitate to form new stars so the outlook of a dead universe of cold dust wasn't quite what I expected. Reminds me of the Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy assertion that the whole universe would eventually reach room temperature!

I wouldn't recommend his book and relativity though. I have read many modern scientifc book and astro-physics, quantum mechanics, evolution etc. but disappointingly found this one quite tough going - even though I already understood the basics. Was rather a disappointment really.

No worries Tricky, my O/Level grade B in Physics was on par with the sorts of miracle that religions build churches and declare holidays over, I am hardly likely to start delving into the kind of bed-time reading that you suggest!

Religion was killed by Darwin - anyone still believing after that, is seriously self-deluded. You have to feel sorry for them but at least we get their bank holidays and xmas presents.

Have you told the Archbishop of Canterbury that... it might save him a lot of wasted effort?

Gravity up tonight

Anybody else got into the habit of watching the rerun on Tuesdays also, just to get their head round it a bit more?

Well, we now now that professor Brian Cox's Permagrin disintegrates when subjected to a force of 4G, however it re-appears upon reduction of gravitational forces and receipt of a BBC expense account.

Am enjoying the programme but the bit about bending space-time hurt my brain.

High up on the South Downs.
Professor Cox is not only a manc but is an Oldham lad.
Was he up against the fence giving it large to the away fans yesterday and offering out for a discussion on time and relativity?

i have no idea what the hell that was all about. If gravity is everywhere, where is it? what is it? How did it get there?
