To be fair, the temperature around Crawley/Gatwick is invariably a few degrees colder than it is around Brighton. What are they supposed to do? A frozen pitch is a frozen pitch

Unbelievable, now postponed because of a frozen pitch!
The sooner we get the girls home to the Brighton area the better. They must be sick of playing at a little tin pot ground that can't even be sorted for an important match

With the opening of their purpose-built stadium hoped for the start of 2027-28, there needs to be a better solution for the next 2 seasons.

If there's a genuine desire to grow the fanbase in Brighton, commit to playing all league and cup fixtures for the 2 seasons after this one at the Amex.

Albion can lead the way on this as they've done on other issues as seen in Karen Carney's documentary. Invest with the long-term in mind.

Granted there may be some temporary inconvenience, but nothing insurmountable. The right thing to do often isn't the most convenient.

I've gone right off crawley after their thuggery early in the season. let them rot in the lower leagues.
I know it's only a couple of seasons away until the women have a purpose built home to ply their trade, but Wish park sounds a better option at the moment rather than the broadfield ice rink

Paul Barber was on the Albion Roar podcast and right at the end spoke about the Womens Stadium. If you're interested its here at about 57 min 10 secs in. Sounds like progress is being made and may be close to the Amex, but he doesn't want to overpromise so may be later than hoped.

Can share the club shop, fan zone, railway station and car park facilities. Students can also work more often for Sodexo.

It makes sooo much sense for it be built here, especially if the Northern stand was over the pathway to provide rain cover for folk in the train queue.

Not publicly announced but open secret within Brighton University staff that the red circled site in @DarrenFreemansPerm 's post is exactly the earmarked location for the new women's stadium.... will suit the university as grass pitch not much used and presumably a significant selling fee for the land and/or access to new shared space for sports science and other seminar/conference rooms in the new facility.

Interesting times as the Falmer sports village evolves. Brighton University also recently launched the development of the "second biggest/best in the world" indoor cricket centre of excellence in their former Virgin Active building.

Does seem like by far the best option

Would be cool if they had a cool design- the amex quite rightly received acclaim for its architecture- would be good to see this have a good design as well

3:18 - missed ball at corner (2nd goal - but in fairness United player clearly standing in offside position, so should've been ruled out)
6:00 - pass out from back (3rd goal)
9:20 - straight from 2nd half kick off (4th goal)

Keating had got away with one pass out beforehand, so it could've been worse.

If you had given it a more suitable headline like "I feel threatened by new things and insecure in my masculinity so here's me having a go at girls playing football" I don't think it would have seen repeated use.

As it stands "Women's football" sounds like a thread to put women's football-things in.

I still think there is also the opportunity to purchase the land above next to the West stand which is mostly derelict apart from the building which houses the caretakers and the Hive bar which has seen better days. This could be used for extra access or could be used for a hotel or club offices.

It might have threatened my masculinity had they actually been any good at football. Seems like they are better this year though.

How many women's games have you been to @Han Solo? Are you a regular attendee?

I think I'll go to a few games if/when they get their own stadium. A friend of mine's daughter plays in my son's team and is also in the Albion academy. She (just about) holds her own in an under-11 boys team in the top division in the county. I reckon she has a decent chance of making it as a pro. I've seen the general the standard of the grass roots girls teams and it's pretty awful, so I reckon she has a real chance. Certainly a better one than any of the boys in the team.

I have referered over a hundred women's matches and watched hundreds more. I follow and watch womens cricket, rugby and boxing.

Womens sport will NEVER be at the same level as mens. Part of the reason is the level of investment in womens sport compared to mens. But most importantly is physiology. It can't be a surprise to learn that the bodies of males and females are different?

The womens 100m Olympic champion will never beat the mens
The womens middleweight boxing champion will never beat the mens
The womens football World Cup winners will never beat the mens

.............and the list never ends.

That is why men and women do not compete against each other in any sports (except darts, bowls and snooker and even then, they don't usually win!)

There is no mileage in taking every opportunity to spout the "they aren't as good as the men" nonsense every time womens sport is mentioned.

Enjoy womens competetive sport for what it is. Or just ignore it.
