...if it's true they are buying Portuguese international Ruben Neves (linked with Chelsea,Man U and Liverpool recently) for £18m, then can imagine the other type of players they are going to get!

Jeez I'm glad we're out of that league! Crazy

That is championship level thinking. Premier League thinking sends you from "oh shite" to "OH SHITE!!!!"

They paid about £12m for a player last season and it didn't do them much good.

This: Having a top striker is valuable of course but it takes a team to win promotion from the Championship. As we have seen, you need strength in every position and can only carry one or two weaker players.

There is going to be a lot of competition in the Championship. A lot of teams spending big money. If Wolves sign him and a couple of other quality players, they should do well. Last year, Helder Costa was brilliant for them but the rest of the squad was very average

Not been liked really with top clubs for2 years. Looked a real talent at 18 but has gone off the boil and only 13 appearances all year.
Not sure he will be suited to the in your face style if the championship. Wolves seem to have to big a relationship with the agent. No doubt another pay day for Mednes but in all honesty 18 million wolves could do with spending elsewhere

Neves is quality but you are not reading between the lines.

Monaco have had a bid rejected for him. His agent is Mendes. Mendes now has (reportedly) full control over transfer dealings at Wolves. Mendes is in line to make more money with an increased offer.

Short story, he is bumping up the asking price.

Very much this. One player doesn't make a team.

No. But they're also being linked with Benik Afobe and a bunch of other Portuguese internationals who might- might!- make them a good side. If nothing else, all this will shift a few tickets.

You can't let a recruitment team loose with Millions and expect to get promoted. You need to find a good Manager who knows how to build a team and who knows how to motivate players and who knows what it takes to get promoted and then let him build a team with the money. Look at Huddersfield their Manager did it on negative goal difference. They knew how to grind out results

With all these championship clubs having rich overseas owners (Villa Brum & Wolves), spending wads on expensive big time charlies.
Are really they clued up to think that they might not get promoted straight away, and could end up spending years trying to get up or down in that league and are devoid of the FFS, sorry FFP.
