That final League game was the first post-match disco (I know .....). Playing the Liquidator with the additional lyrics "**** off West Brom - the Wolves". Didn't O'Hara give the V-sign to the Wolves fans.

I saw loads of Wolves fans applauding us at the end, even quite a few in the section where some dimwits had sung pointless homophobic songs.

Brighton and Wolves colours mixed freely in the streets afterwards, including well away from the Police in the city centre. We went to nice Italian restaurant afterwards, where there fans from both clubs.

The advice beforehand to not where Albion colours and get out of the shithole was nonsense.

No bad blood between these two clubs and fanbases. When we sent them down in May 2013 at the Amex, Albion fans backed their 2,000 fans taunting of Jamie O'Hara and others letting Wolves down.

Anybody who applauds the away team or fans need shooting. It's a look at me aren't I a generous and loveable new age fan. Bring back the old days when you'd be running the gauntlet back to the station.

You'll have plenty of opportunity at Smelhurst next year to relive those days

This. Plus I'm quite envious of the whole wolf iconography they've got - the two wolves/dogs that are paraded pre match (beautiful animals) & the 'out of the darkness' tags. & the Black Country pre match music (you can't beat a bit of Led Zep to get you in the mood) as well as possibly the best programme cover art I've ever seen - worth sharing here if I can work out how (I love that the seagulls are putting up a fight, as we know they can):

Wow! Yes, that's a mighty impressive programme cover!

I chatted to a few at the station on the way home. Their assessment was that they had a goalkeeper who can't save, a defence that can't defend, strikers that can't strike and a midfield that are invisible. Oh - and a crap manager.

Pretty upbeat!

All framed and put up on the wall, what a great reminder of a season. We'd certainly shift a few more programmes. Get the Lewes FC team onboard for next season. Red Devil standing on top of flying seagull stabbing at it with its trident, Liver Bird v Seagull stand-off over a dropped polystyrene tray of chips and gravy in a Liverpool 8 back alley, seagull catching an Arsenal cannonball in its beak, seagull v Spurs cockerel dust up etc.
:)

Brilliant!!

On the flip side, they gave a louder and more widely sung version of Does Your Boyfriend...etc and We Can See You Holding Hands than any other team I can remember this season except Lincoln (and you kind of expect it from lower league/ non league sides as generally they haven't worked out that it's 2017 and most people have moved on). Wolves' South Bank did seem to delight in that.

Can't say I really encountered any generous Wolves fans apart from one family on the train to the game, but obviously others did, so fair play.

I'll never forget the 'Our striker is Bent' chant in 2014. Honestly, the confusion in that home section was to savour.

Good to hear. Things have changed a lot then. It used to be a very dodgy place to get in and out of. So much better nowadays.

Wasn't so friendly recently..

Kicked off outside their ground and on the walk to the station in 2012 and they attacked the Railway Bell a couple seasons later.

as I can out the stadium there was a wolves fan walking in opposite direction dishing out the high fives to us, me included.

Unlike last year when one of their resident LOONIES leapt over the barrier into the exiting Albion faithful and lamped someone at random for no reason before being carted off.

I think they are acknowledging that we will go up now and good on them. In the pre-match thread Wolves ground was described as being a bit like Dodge city,,,

It has a reputation not entirely undeserved. The home fans used to escort any away fans from the station amongst a lot of excited bouncing around.

Having lived through those 60s/70s days I'm glad for the changes...must be getting old. :(

I agree with whitelion.
Thankfully we have moved on since those thug ridden days. And you seriously miss them???

And their club put up posters in the concourse next to the catering hatch, congratulating our team on a successful season. I didn't take a photo but thought it was a lovely gesture...until one of our own thunderplanks tore it off the wall.

There are plenty of people that are keen to change the things in the game that we all love. They usually aren't the opposing fans. You should grow up.

Last time I was at Wolves they took ENORMOUS offence to 'You're too ugly' and 'Come over here and take it up the axxe'. In fact it was at that point it all started to kick off, stuck in the 70's in the Black country?

Apart from the aforementioned song by their noisy c. 200 (never to be heard again after it went 1-0 to us), even they appeared harmless.

There was a grumpy 55 year old (ex hooligan legend in his lunchtime?) who leaned over from the front row of the upper tier on 60 minutes slagging us off. He was told to **** off by many Albion. Even he and his harmless mates smiled and waved when they left on 85 minutes to the Cheerio song.

I liked their the stadium in a city centre setting, their passionate fans and their loyalty. Virtually all of them stayed until 80 minutes plus, despite it being a dead rubber and having to endure others celebrating. You couldn't say that at the Amex. My take on it is that up north they love their football up and the whole matchday event.

An unforgettable day for the 3,000 Seagulls.

I bet the programme art commissioners are dreading the day they ever play Morcambe FC, that'll represent a bit of a challenge. morecambe292-242524_478x359.jpg
