Well Maupay has certainly been given more than enough opportunity. More so than anyone else . Bloom ashworth carry blame as well.

Agreed. Signing top Championship strikers rarely translates into better than OK PL strikers

A lot of teams who have a player sent off early in a game don't capitulate like we did today, I give you our home game against Sheff Utd this season.
Dunk took a calculated risk in a split second, but on this occasion it back fired. I am not blaming him.

Bit harsh on Dunk.

Given our abysmal goal scoring record and our pretty solid defence in recent matches, taking the red card was a reasonable option to get the win though Silva still had a lot to do to score.

Traore made the difference though. Without him think we’d have held out for the win even with 10 men......

clean through 1 on 1 with time to set himself??
yeah that's as close as you get to a near certain goal opportunity for me.

Sanchez may have saved it it but I'm betting the xg on that opportunity is pretty high.

You have more confidence in that striker than many Wolves fans!
Still a lot of work to do especially with Sanchez to beat IMO.
However much credit Dunk has in the bank, he 100% made the wrong decision on this occasion.

Did anyone see on Adama Traore just prior to him coming on. He was plastering some kind of oil on his arms. Was it to stop BHA players holding on to him and easier for him to slip away. Strange, but effective considering the result.

It’s well reported that he uses ‘baby oil’ on his arms because he’s had several shoulder dislocations from players pulling at his arm as he runs past them. It’s application was a suggestion of his physio to reduce the risk of further.

should have taken chances in first half. game should have been over and then dunk might have made a different decision.

Absolutely this. Time after time this season we have failed to take one or two of multiple chances and then concede either an equaliser and / or a winner.

If we are ever going to be a top ten team we need to change that.

FFS with the childish need for polls. Your opinion on Potter has changed after one result?

Would you have asked for a poll if we had won? Doubt it.

I don’t think he was serious - I hope not. But perhaps now you can see why the olive branch went down the way it did. At least you’ve learned from it

FFS, nothing to do with a stupid sending off then. And now we blame VAR for not giving a penalty when the vast majority on here hate VAR. Let’s have some consistency.

The penalty was so bloody obvious it shouldn’t even have needed VAR. Dunk deserved to go but it was a light tug and the guy went down like he’d been shot. Burn was bloody wrestled to the ground, outrageous that it wasn’t given as a pen. 2-0 at half time makes it a totally different game.

So I’m not blaming the sending off, the ref or VAR but consistency is EXACTLY what I expect

100% agreed it needs consistency. It’s NOT nailed on unfortunately. Murray said it was a pen, Jeans disagreed. The Brighton fan in me says pen all day long. The centre back in mr says blocking defenders are entitled to hold station and fight for it. If that was at the other end and Burn doesn’t wrestle and they score from a free header, then what do we say?

So for exactly this reason the refs and VAR need to apply consistent standards and they simply don’t.

I thought we were very wasteful in the first half. Not on actual chances but in the last third possession to make those chances.

Yes they picked this up on BBC at half time. Too much tarting about around the box. Goes back to our xG sometimes being comprised of lots of shit chances.

In reality it doesn't make a lot of difference getting 1 point or zero points. You could argue that a point today would mean that West Brom couldn't catch us, but given they need to win all four of their last four games anyway, the likelihood of that happening was always remote. Getting a point today would mean we'd be 11 ahead of Fulham, instead of 10....which wouldn't;t change anything really, as Fulham would also need to win their last four regardless (given the goal difference issue).

So - frustrating as it was to concede in the 90th minute, I don't think it makes a lot of difference.

Yes, it was only a win that would have seen us safe. Shows importance of the win v Leeds. However, in terms of ending the season well it was disappointing to lose and have two players red carded, including our captain.
It would be nice to actually get a last minute winner some time this season.

God we are soooooo rubbish at football we should be a Man city by now, or what happened to them yesterday? 1-0 up then fluffed a penalty and lost 1-2 to a goal in the 92nd minute? It's football.

Just got in after a lovely day out in the Lake District. We did a ‘Likely Lads’, apart from the hiding in the church bit and we were also more successful at avoiding the score ! Settled down to watch on iPlayer (as advertised by the BBC) and it’s not on !! Obviously I then made the schoolboy error of looking online to see where we might watch and accidentally saw the score. Having caught up on here now we are very glad to have missed it. Seems the game ticked all the boxes of a classic 2020/21 BHA performance.
