They are not allowed to call Christmas by its real name, they have to call it Wintermass, so not to offend the other religions.
They are not even allowed to put thosecandle things in the window because they apparently offends as well
I get angry every time i think of it.
Nightmare

Let's get real, Angels by Robbie is the English national anthem, either that or fecking Wonderwall.
bhaexpress said:True but in New York thay are no longer supposed to use the world 'Christmas' but use the expression 'Holiday's instead. There was a real row when Macy's wasn't allowed to have a Christmas scene in it's main windows.
It is a bit stupid in any circumstances.
Mr Burns said:It says a lot about the shi... country we now live in when you cannot play the English National Athem without offending some tosser, who you probably allowed to move here from a third world country, and paid for them to do it.
The St George cross is now seen more as a racist statement, than the English flag, where as in most countries to flag your national flag is seen as a normal thing to do. Over here they'd make you take it down in case you offend any one!!
Any way I'm gonna stop now before I say something to get me in trouble.

Oh dear did I upset poor little hamptons feelings. Mind you I suppose you've been a bit emotional this week what with John Tyndall's death.

In America, there is a very good debate about the rigid seperation of church and state - and moves to ensure that Christian symbolism do not dominate public (ie tax-payer funded) spaces like parks, courts and town halls.
There are no laws on what happens in private spaces like Macy's shop windows. That is just a plain lie. Macy's would have taken this decision out of respect for the sensitivities of non-Christians, which is their perfect right. Christians have no right to dictate that shops must put cribs in their window FFS!
America was a country founded partly due to religious persecution in Europe. That's why they have a very mature debate on the seperation of church and state.

I thought "Land of Hope and Glory" was the de facto Conservative Party anthem, and "Jersualem" was ditto for Labour.
Could this be part of the problem?
And if it is, what is the LDP's de facto anthem? "Get Down, Boogie-oogie-oogie" by Taste O' Honey is, so far as I know, up for grabs.
