OH MY!!!! In a way, I feel a bit sad.............. OK, that's the sadness dealt with. Move on.

I wonder how much money or valuables were found underneath?

Things come, and things go. I can remember sitting on the big grassy bank (which is/was the south stand) watching the Brighton B52s.
There are so many memories at that place - it has served us well.

Sadness tinged with GREAT JOY!

How is that possible? I just found out that it is

Cool pictures, respect to that place for enabling The Albion - however you liked the place or not - and for acting like a floating bridge to the other shore. Thanks too, Dick 'Moses' Knight.

Thanks for the great photos guys. I had read about it being dismantled the other day and wondered how Withdean looked now.

I bet they found a fortune in loose change under the South Stand - I personally lost at least £1.90 in those 12yrs. You know what, I genuinely found those photos quite sad.

Still amazes me (not that it matters now) how the South could never have a propped cantilever stand like the old(well post 1984) North at the Goldstone-cost i suppose.

Thanks to both of you for the pics. As much as we all hated Withdean, without it we'd probably be looking at a non-League Albion. 3 Titles and a playoff final victory-Withdean was fantastic for The Albion-a tinge of sadness for me looking at its dismantling.

I bet removing 12 years of dropped food and the beasties that fed on it under the south stand was a pretty grim task.
