To be honest, if we lost 4-3 tomorrow I wouldn't feel "let down" !

Rochdale aint Leeds,(and no,I am not in awe of the "big team")Rochdale have spent 30 odd years at the bottom level and I remember fondly the 1-1 draw when the great Pat Saward was our Manager. It saved them relegation from the old 3rd div-no doubt a highlight for them.
Rochdale have always been a bunch of conference dodgers but that fatal night the weather was atrocious but the Albion were diabolical(in the TRUE sense of the word).

Ah well, is it just me who finds the atmosphere better at the Withers when its raining?

I do quite enjoy it (perversely). There is that feeling of being 'all in it together', knowing nods and smiles, a bit of pride in turning out to watch the local team in an open air stadium midwinter.

Millwall was the WETTEST Ive ever been! Even while in the SHOWER! Id be quite happy for the ref to call it off with the Albion winning 3-0 and 15 mins left on the clock! Anything abandoned after 70mins is a RESULT!

bullshit. nothing withdean gave then was as bad as Rochdale on the december friday night, and no way can the team let us down more that they did for that game.

OMG i'd forgotten about that, got to be one the the worst withdean nights ever. thanks for reminding me!

If I can get myself fully ponchoed up (and being quite short they are pretty tent like to me), I'm well looking forward to it.

Nothing better than a lower league mud fest.

The updated forecast isn't so bad. But it will get worse as the game goes on.

Can anyone in BN1 enlighten me as to whether its already hoofing it down?

About to leave London (in an hour or so) and need to know the full extent of the conditions, plus I have to stand outside and fix a bloody fence pre-match.

I remember the Cardiff game in 2001 - wettest Withdean EVER

They had a shot that was going in but stopped in a PUDDLE in the 6 yard box

The funniest thing was knowing that the Cardiff fans would be made to stand in the rain for hours while the Police herded them out of the City.

That Rochdale game had a fantastic atmosphere as far as I remember and was definitely the wettest I have got at Withdean...and I was in the North Stand about 3 rows back.

I remember us playing Derby in the Championship one year (the one where they had Ravanelli on the bench) and it absolutely PISSED down. The game was a shit 0-0 until, in the 89th (ish) minute, up popped Kerry Mayo to score the winner.

Interesting little saga at that game as our family doctor was also the club doctor however emigrated last year.....

Anyway when that goal was scored one fan punched the air so hard they dislocated their shoulder at the same time

The last two visits by Millwall to Withdean have both been marked by absolute DELUGES if memory serves.
