By the seaside in West Somerset
Except the transport wasn't free, it was just factored in to ALL ticket prices from day one (as it will be now).

the club made the mistake of being too transparent when they moved to the Amex. Better to have just bunged £30 on all ST prices and pro-rata to matchdays and say nothing. Homesty just brought complaints. Unneccessary

The Astral Planes, man...
The stupid routines, like walking down the road past a house where all the wheelie bins and recycling boxes had '3 Weyland Avenue' painted on them and asking "Where are we?"
The ice cream van, abusing the WW man, getting up close to the team as they warmed up in the south west corner....

The screamer, rocket man, chips, the running track when there was a late goal, the away fans who used to delight in telling us how shit it was and were amazed when we agreed rather than trying to defend it, Virgo, Man City, 3 titles, Zamora, Gus hiding behind the dugouts when we had a penalty, the Russell Slade pitch invasion....wouldn't swap the Amex for any of it though.

mad, just mad

No, you obviously never experienced a goal in the North Stand at the Goldstone in the 70s. Like a mosh pit, utterly brilliant. I agree with the previous poster, I'd rather be back at the 70s Goldstone, ringing round your mates at 1pm, all going to stand together, watching Peter Ward take us to the top division in front of 25 - 30,000. It's not mad to miss that, even though it is great at the moment.

80s Goldstone was falling apart though, but still with great moments.
