Mr Highway, if you find that you want to go to Withers late on and for cash, then check NSC as there are often tickets on offer from other fans.

With the not too obvious handing over of cash, everyone is happy. I've bought some in my time and also 'sold' the odd spare.

It's good to see that the attendances are increasing at Withdean.

Yesterday 6683 watched the game. 6474 went to the Walsall game & 6602 for the Rochdale one. Average so far is 6586.

Comparing this time last season. The first 3 games at home were Walsall 6504, Stockport 5270 & Wycombe 5895. Average of 5890.

How many clubs can boast an 11.8% increase in their attendance at this comparable part of the season?

Indeed the average crowds at Withdean have been increasing in recent year's:

2007/2008 5,937
2008/2009 6,092
2009/2010 6,467
2010/2011 6,586 (after 3 games)

So the question needs to be asked. If the crowds are coming back albeit a few more each game, will their be enough extra regulars who will go to Falmer week in week out after the honeymoon period is over?

What do you think?

Surely, some of these 'I will come to Falmer but not Withdean people', 'I only go to away games' ''supporters'' - will watch the Albion on Saturday?
Second in the league!!! If we don't get 7,000 then quite frankly I don't think we deserve to get promoted!!! The club deserves better.

Todays gate was 7,253.

Given that we sold out, with a capacity of 8,850 & the Internet stand of 100 & some 750 spare seats in the away end, the crowd should have been 8,000.

That means some 10% of our supporters didn't turn up!!!

There were a group of 10 lads in H Stand who left at half time. Why? Can only think that they were on a stag do, as were all dressed in vests!!!

So why do so many people who cannot go, or don't go having bought a ticket, not sell them or gift them away. I don't understand it.

I hope to be living back in Sussex after 15 years living overseas, where ever is home I will be at home games, The last home game I watched was at the Goldstone and last away I can’t remember exact year but we were down close to going out the football league. I was sent up to Chester for work and don’t know why we stayed fri eve and met some Albion fans in a pub, so went to the game next day. You may moan about gate numbers but here in the Swiss premier league the top teams play each other Basel v Zurich get 30,000. Today Zurich had 11,000.

I honsestly can't understand why people leave 10 minutes early, stands were virtually half empty at the whistle today. I dont get some people. You pay your money for 90 minutes of football, not 80. It must piss the players/poyet off.

And the people who sit at the end if the aisle......... i usually spend the last 10 min's having to stand up every couple of min to let people past. :tantrum:

Confused, as sold out, but over 1000 empty home seats???

You are not the only one!

With a capacity of 8,850 & that 'internet stand' of about 120 & 730 spare seats in the Yeovil end, if all the home fans would have turned up the crowd would have been 8,000.

That means 747 BHA people who bought tickets didn't turn up. Close on 10% of our home supporters!!

I wonder if its down to the corporates. I know several companies who have bought boxes/corporate packages for Falmer also have for Withdean. I presume for a game like Yeovil they couldn't give them away!!

This season has certainly thrown up more stay-aways than previous years.
Can't blame the weather & certainly not the football.

I suspect its down to the increase in the fair weather supporters buying season tickets, in advance of next season, so they get first call where to sit at the Amex. Can't think of any other reason!

Not everyone who has a season ticket is either able or intends to go to every game; my son hasn't been to a home game this season due to work commitments.
For some, supporting BHA is a bit more than just going to a football match and many people don't sell on tickets because there is no financial benefit to the club.

Season ticket sold this year rumoured to be c. 5,000. I doubt many of the missing will be people who have booked full price tickets, meaning most of the missing 747 will be season ticket holders.

That means more than 1 in 7 of them did not turn up for what would otherwise have been a sell-out crowd.

Also implies that most of the missing couldn't even be bothered to find someone who really did want to support the current born-again team.

Shame!

My mate who is a season ticket holder has only been to two league games this season (lives in Herts), however he has sold his ticket for every game on NSC.

Makes you wonder why others don't?
Perhaps the club could receive tickets at the ground for those that cannot make a game & fans without a ticket could queue on match day for a ticket so long as a donation is made to the clubs chosen charity?

Think I'll send a post to insider
