Withdean Attendance

Today's gate was 6602, with I estimate about 300 from Rochdale.

Given that the club had a special ticketing offer for this game & the next, to guarantee seats for the last 3 games at the Withers, was this a good crowd?

With the season starting sprightly & full of optimism - how on earth is the club going to double numbers at Falmer?

You would have thought that there would be a clamour for tickets at Withdean, with all those glory folk joining the ride to the promised land of Falmer.

I cannot see how we will increase crowds that significantly next season.

Ideas?

Would be nice if people came to SING rather than sit there moaning the atmosphere was awful.

I sit in the North Stand. There were a few spaces around us but they were regulars who were on holiday. Have to say the South Stand looked pretty full!

People don't need to go to Withdean to get a ticket for Falmer, so that point is irrelevant in my opinion.

It was an average crowd bearing in mind summer holidays and the shit weather and dull opponents

i think the crowd against basically a team every one would see as a poor draw was pretty good at height of holiday season.Falmer will have excellent crowds to start with whoever we play but i dont think anyone can expect 24,000 every week v teams like rochdale etc

Norwich managed it last season though in this division. I think we will be lucky to get 12,000, let alone 20k+, UNLESS either (a) we are top of the league, or (b) the club are very creative with ticket pricing.

Personally I resented queueing for ten minutes to get into the South Stand today. Normally there's about half a dozen people in the queue.

I’m afraid to say, most fans are disillusioned about Falmer. We’ll get 7 - 8,000 max, no more. Falmer will be such an anti climax that 90% of the geeks on here will spend the first season saying how shit it is etc.

P.s, You read it here first!
