Great to have the FDM back in goal.
Now, lets see what Hendo's reaction is. Does he knuckle down and work his arse off to get back in the team ? Or does he march into Deano's office, slap another transfer request down and FLOUNCE out the place again ?

I very much hope for Option 1, for the good of the club.

I still prefer Hendo and did not listen to the game today but from what I have heard the reason we won is because we scored with pretty much our only shot and cheaterfield were woeful. We also had more experience at the back with OGH playing but of course it was all down to Kuipers wasn't it:nono: :nono: :nono:
I will cheer him if he starts next game as I cheer whoever is on the pitch but mark my words Hendo will be back and is the better keeper.

Can't add a lot to that.
Apart from No Hendo isn't the best keeper and a career of lower league football follows. Too short, poor on crosses, verbal communication poor, shot stopping average but best of his attributes.

Blatantly obvious i'm afraid.

For me, it's not about whether he's a 'better keeper' - it's about instilling confidence in the defence, and players in front of him so that, ultimately, he doesn't have to be tested or have misunderstandings.

It's not an indictment for the end of Hendo or a cry to put him into the reserves forever - but instead to learn the things that FDM does right, and put right the weaknesses he has in his game.

This has fallen straight into FDM's lap. He could do no wrong today could he?

He is a good keeper, as is Hendo. I have said before both have strengths, both have weaknesses, but together we have probably the best two keepers in this league.

Kuipers is in a win win position here with Hendo's confidence on the decline, FDM comes in and plays a blinder. Obviously DW will keep faith now and FDM will stake his place for a good period.

What will happen when he makes a few gaffes? I do believe that he is prone to some too! Hendo will be waiting in the wings, come on and play a blinder. The script seems to be have written already.

This can only bode well for the club as good healthy competition can only improve both of them. Hendo is still young and is already an international keeper.

The future is bright for our two keepers, at the moment the future appears to be Orange.

Don't think he played a blinder today by any means

NO real shots by the sounds of it and several kicks into the stands

However he is in possesion of the shirt and we won so he should keep it for the next game

What, like Kuipers did?

I still can't see much between them, but I also think the change had to be made, even if it was just a case of rolling the dice, making a change for the sake of it to see if it brought a turn of fortune.

But calling Kuipers 'God', like the first poster has, is over the top, IMHO.

Mind you, such is the cult of Kuipers on here, that he could drop a soft cross in the last minute of a relegation decider, trip over his own boot laces, frantically gather the ball up on the goalline, kick it straight to an approaching striker then let the resultant shot trickle in through his legs for the winner, and you'd all be blaming Tommy Fraser or Dean Hammond for failing to win a tackle ten minutes previously

You are spot on there

Both are decent keepers, both have good and bad points

Problem is Kuipers is seen along with Zamora, Cullip, Adams et al as a demi god and never slagged off by the nsc kuipers lovers

I make no secret of preferring Kuipers. Thats not to say I want Henderson run out of the club, as he's a decent enough keeper. But the fact is, we've not had a clean sheet since October, and Hendo has made a couple of costly errors lately, so a change was certainly due. Hendo's not solely to blame, as the defence has hardly covered itself in glory lately, but I'd like to see Kuipers given a run of games now to see how we get on.

Thats not "hero worship". Thats not calling Kuipers God. He's just as capable of making a complete rick as Hendo or any other keeper. But Hendo's form HAS been erratic, so Wilkins is fully jutified in giving Kuipers the shirt for now.

Most of the Henderson supporters (I hate saying that because I support both keepers) would agree but when the boot is on the other foot, it all goes very OTT.

Easy, I know YOU didn't call Kuipers God. But someone on here has, hence the title of the thread.

I do like the guy, and I think, as stated previously, that a change was due, if only to try and force a change of luck, but on the same note, I don't think that both keepers get treated equally by some fans.

If Henderson fooks up, even slightly, people are leaping out of their seats to have a go. Kuipers seems to get a lot more chances, and people don't go analysing his game in minute detail, looking for the tiniest hint of a mistake to pin on him. They do with Henderson.

There is a cult surrounding Kuipers, which IMHO isn't ENTIRELY justified.

(But am more than happy to have him in for the time being)

So you're saying Kuipers has his boot on the wrong foot ?
Hmm. Would explain his kicking.
