With all the moaning and groaning I forgot to mention the food.

I wandered into the ESL at 19:25.
I walked straight to the counter.
I had a choice of pie, steak or nothing, I chose steak.
I brought a pint of Harvey's.

I was sat in my seat just as the teams came out.

Happy days.

I've eaten my last Chicken ("& Ham") pie...

It has taken the eating of 5 disappointments this season to get me to the point where hope will no longer triumph over experience. Absolutely consistently the filling is now devoid of ham and any sort of liquid sauce. Add to that the fact they are consistently undercooked with soggy, lukewarm pastry and, very reluctantly, I have been put off.

A follow-up Chicken Balti at least delivered some moisture but the undercooked pastry was still frustrating.

Piglets 4/10

I had a FANTASTIC steak pie, in the ESL last night. Probably the best ever. Piping hot, and RAMMED with steak. Yum yum, in my tum. Piglets 9.0

Another cracking Balti pie for me from the WSU around 7pm last night - crispy pastry an all. 8/10

No one on NSC ever walks anywhere normally, everyone seems to stroll, wander, breeze or saunter :moo:

Had my best ever Chicken and Ham experience in West Upper last night. Absolute dream! Also experienced a very speedy and efficient service at all times before during and after the match!

Indeed... I have no idea what @Moshe Gariani is MOANING and GROANING about... my WSU Chicken and Ham pie (served at approx 19:35) was hot, moist and delicious... as usual.

I gave up after one supposed chicken & ham pie (or gammon as it says on posters) which was completely devoid of any ham, also as you say pastry under cooked. Steak pie last night wasn’t as good as last season either. Has Piglets become a victim of their own success or have they been made to take a cut in the amount they are paid for them?

Balti Pie. Rammed with chicken. Crispy pastry. Washed down with Harveys. Marvellous

Is this the point I can mention the once-again delicious calzone in Dick's Bar?

Ta.

Again? You've only mentioned the pizza calzone before.

Me: veggie pie from the pie&beer counter in the WSU at about 19:40. It seemed very undercooked and soggy, all but folding in my hand as I took it from the box to munch. Filling was as tasty as ever though. I'm not blaming the pie, but I was also up a lot of the night with a very bad stomach and stayed working from home today as a precautionary measure.

Beyond that I'm absolutely DEVASTATED that I had no knowledge of the veggie balti pie either on Saturday or yesterday. Are these special pies mentioned anywhere on the kiosks?

i dont eat at footy grounds as i have a decent palette, but last night i purchased a hot drink l,the time was 615,
this was in the west upper ,and i would imagine maybe 100 fans dotted around watching celtic and highlights of brighton
,as i purchased my drink,a guy ordered a cheeseburger,
his comment was i waited 20 mins on sat for one,got back to my seat to find no cheese!!!,lets hope thisone is right.
1 MIN LATER,he came back and went mental,he sais it was empty, with 5 counter staff doing nothing and they still got it wrong, the burger contained no cheese, how hard is it too get right even when bloody empty.
Im so glad i eat before i go to the amex.

I got mine from the most northerly WSU kiosk and there was a sign on the counter next to the till offering a special veggie balti/pint meal deal.

Had a delightful Chicken, Gammon and Leak (is this the same as Chicken and ham, just a different name for 1901?) before the game and a rotten, burnt sausage roll at half time.

The pies are average at best, I cannot for the life of me work out why NSC goes into wankfest over them.

Put next to a Pukka Pie they are superb but then so is a Tesco Value pie.
