Winter Holidays - where are you going?

I've not taken a winter holiday before, I fancy a week of sun In January or February.

The Med isn't hot enough, the canaries are just a bunch of rocks in the Atlantic.

Egypt looks good, but I'd want to take in some history if I went there, and a week isn't long enough if you take out 3 days to visit the Pyramids etc.

Morocco looks decently priced, anyone else been there? What's it like at this time of year?

Off on the 11th Jan to Jamaica for two weeks.

Booked last week with Airtours for a bargain £330. They were also offering Mexico for £20 more. No wonder they lost £900m last year.

I am usure about your dismissal of the Canaries as a "bunch of rocks in the Atlantic", BHA links. I have been to Peurto del a Cruz in Tenerife in the winter and had a fantastic time in all the bars, restaurants and clubs.

PS I am probably only jealous because I am consigned to London until next July!!

I went to Puerto Plata (I think that's what it was called, I'm trying to erase the memory) a few years ago and had the worst summer holiday I've ever had, so my view of the canaries is probably jaundiced.

I'm sure there must be some nice places, that wasn't one of them though!!

Our buyer and our solicitor wanted to complete 12th Jan but the people in Sussex are moving to Derbyshire and are a bit behind us.

We are hoping that a definite date will be agreed next week or we may have to move in with relatives for a week or two and put furniture into storage.

Not true. Try Fuerteventura. Beautiful white sand beaches, quality wind-surfing + kite flying + kite-surfing-if-thats-the-name-for-it. Great standard of accomodation and some smashing restaurants and bars. Corralejo is top-notch
