Johnson scored 24 goals in the Premiership with Palace, and finished second top scorer behind Henry. This earned him a place in the Premier League Team of the Season, partnering Thierry up front.

Zamora has never even come close to matching AJ's 2005 season.

How many of those were penalties?

Edit. just checked myself as you have a habit of getting these things wrong - it was 21 goals he scored that season, not 24. 8 were penalties.

Quite right - 21 goals (8 penalties) for a relegated side. A fantastic record, which earned him his England caps.

Wrong. Our gates are increasing. We've sold 2000 more ST's than this time last year. So far we have invested more in the squad than you have, with more to come. We are also trying to secure moving to a new a ground.

Say what you want about Palace but we're OBVIOUSLY not a club in decline.

I'd hope you have more invested than what is 80% a league 1 squad, my point is that the season just finished we invested more than you, and we will again this summer.

As for your attendances, try the actual figure that attend as opposed to tickets sold and you'll get the picture.

They will never admit this Arthur .

I don't think anyone seriously does not believe he is a very promising talent but if the reported offer of £7million was on the table in January I am stunned your club did not snap boltons hands off. Potential is one thing reaching it is quite another and that seemed an astronomical sum of money for someone who at this stage is far from the finished article

Spot on, he doesn't appear to be half the player that oxlaide-chamberlain is, £12m transfer aged 17.

The £7m wouldn't have been up front, though. It would've been in future England caps, Premier League goals, that sort of thing.

If we were offered £7m in cash with a 20% sell on fee we'd probably take it. If addons were involved we'd be looking at over £10m.

Zaha is quite a good player, potentially a very good player. That is it in a nutshell really.

They will never admit this Arthur .

Quite the opposite. Your mate above has it about right, and I doubt many on here would argue, with a description of the boy as 'quite a good player'. On the whole, the responses here are a reaction to the ridiculous assertions from the rest of you that rather than 'quite a good player', he's some kind of next generation superbeing, worth tens of millions.

Nonsense comments that he is 'by far the best player' in a Championship featuring Whittingham, Lambert, Lallana, Roberts, Gorkss, Nolan, Vicente, etc, etc are always going to get such a response.

Blimey. A couple of sensible posts. Yours and Arthur Waite or whatever his name is.

Zaha is a good player with bags of skill and is the type of player we all love to watch ,some of his twist and turns make good defenders look stupid he can do thing with a football that most players can only dream about ,with out even thinking about it ,a pure natural ,
Is he the final product,no not yet ,but every time he gets the ball and starts to run at the defence you get that tingle of excise meant not knowing what he's going to do,yep sometime the ball ends in row z but on other time your left stuned where did that come from,
He's the kind of player you dont mind falking out your £30 to watch

Makes you wonder why more of your fans don't turn up. Genuine comment there.

Its a joy to see Wilf running full pelt at defenders, he's got so many tricks and turns, defenders haven't a clue what to do. No way is he the finished artical, but he's the best 19 year old i've seen at Selhurst.
