I would wait for the first service patch, it rarely works out to be an early adopter.

Nah. There are a few bugs by the looks of it. But this list of features being removed isn't exactly going to make many people lose any sleep is it?

• If you have Windows 7 Home Premium, Windows 7 Professional, Windows 7 Ultimate, Windows 8 Pro with Media Center, or Windows 8.1 Pro with Media Center and you install Windows 10, Windows Media Center will be removed.
• Watching DVDs requires separate playback software
• Windows 7 desktop gadgets will be removed as part of installing Windows 10.
• Windows 10 Home users will have updates from Windows Update automatically available. Windows 10 Pro and Windows 10 Enterprise users will have the ability to defer updates.
• Solitaire, Minesweeper, and Hearts Games that come pre-installed on Windows 7 will be removed as part of installing the Windows 10 upgrade. Microsoft has released our version of Solitaire and Minesweeper called the “Microsoft Solitaire Collection” and “Microsoft Minesweeper.”
• If you have a USB floppy drive, you will need to download the latest driver from Windows Update or from the manufacturer’s website.
• If you have Windows Live Essentials installed on your system, the OneDrive application is removed and replaced with the inbox version of OneDrive.

An nvidia driver update last year ballsed up my pc so until Microsoft provide an option for these to be hidden/rejected or downloaded manually I wont be switching to windows 10

That probably explains why my pc was taking 3 or 4 minutes to boot up yesterday evening and this morning Mine is ready for download but I will resist the temptation to be a beta tester.

With the best will in the world I won't have it for a week anyway! Live in Brighton centre and the best I can do for broadband is not quite a meg.

I think I read that You can download an ISO file somewhere, not sure where

Anyone who is waiting to.be notified of the download can force it along like this:

Delete the contents of C:\Windows\SoftwareDistribution\Download

and Run command in an elevated command prompt (Run as Administrator) and type:
wuauclt.exe /updatenow

it will give it a nudge [emoji106]

4-6gb apparently.

It comes up as 2.7gb on the windows update screen but it is taking for ever on a decent connection so guessing the servers are maxed out now our U.S. Cousins are up.

I'm 65% through the download, very slow going.
