I’d love to see Nadal win this but with an abdominal injury, a five setter yesterday and the fact that the nasty Aussie is actually very talented I can see a mocking and piss taking win for Mr Angry

My sister went on Monday and she had an absolute blast on Centre Court - saying it was one of the best days of her life! I've never heard her so excited when she phoned after the Kygrios v Nakashima match! The atmosphere was electric, especially when the genius Nadal played. She bought loads of souvenirs including a bath towel for me that absorbs water in seconds and is beautifully made (only £35 for a '100 years of Centre Court' edition - not bad at all).

Make sure you enjoy every minute of your day. Wimbledon don't take cash at all which was the only downside but I'd love to go one year from what little sis told me! That and a visit to Twickenham to see England play rugby.

I'm not interested in tennis, but saw a bit of the final stages of Nadal's game. A question. Why so much support for Nadal from the crowd? He's not British. He's won quite enough in his career. Shirley the Wimbledon crowd should be supporting the underdog? Isn't that the British thing to do?

The underdog was a YANK

Hope you have a great day. You'll see from my post earlier in this thread that I was lucky to bag centre court tickets for the opening day and it was a unique and brilliant atmosphere. I don't follow tennis and hanker for the characters of yesteryear like Borg, McEnroe, Connors and Nastase etc. However, I would highly recommend even if not quite as iconic as a test match at Lords

Nadal is much liked but arguably it's not really deserved. He has never respected the idea of playing the game at the server's pace, and instead just disrupts by deliberately keeping the server waiting. It's gamesmanship and is the same reason I wasn't entirely displeased to see Kyrios beat Tsitsipas (even though Kyrios himself is a complete cock).

There is some real irony in Elena Rybakina's run to the Semis. She is Moscow born but switched allegiance to Kazakhstan. She won't be a popular winner if she goes all the way. Come on Simona, get yourself back together!

Nadal suffered a 7cm abdominal muscle tear during his Quarter final match, and yet still won despite having to serve with much reduced pace.
Most people would have pulled out in similar circumstances. He still intends to play the Semi final even though there is little chance he can win the tournament from here.

Real bravery, and deserves a lot more respect on here. Probably him or Djokovic will go down as the GOAT in the sport.

Whilst you’re correct re Rafa’s speed of play he is a fantastic player and fully deserves his popularity imo. I always loved the Roger/Rafa rivalry because of their contrasting styles - one elegant, stylish and one raw energy and fight. Personally I still have them both ahead of Novak in GOAT discussions but it’s all subjective really

Generally, number of grand slam wins is the major argument on considering who is the GOAT

Currently Nadal leads with 22 with Roger and Novak on 20. Federer unlikely to win anymore.

She's still Russian. It's a real shame she's made the final but you can't argue with her performances, she's there on merit. Halep's serving has been exquisite throughout the tournament but totally gone today.
