Apart from Toko (only just joined) and Ince (still very raw) who would you classify as a proper DM? we have Kemy but again there are issues there. I may be missing one but I can't think of any others.

I certainly wouldnt be classifying Crofts or Stephens as one if that's who you're thinking of.

On the presumption that we would play two DM's, we certainly need one more.

Although I agree, I find that the DM role tends to require a certain type of player or a specialist to perform it truly to a high standard. Toko is clearly the standout candidate for 1st choice with Ince as 2nd, but I have real issues with forcing square pegs into round holes.

If nothing else, look at Steven Gerrard: A very good player, moved back into that role. Sure, he's competent, but that's it. You need someone who is either completely selfless as a player, or someone who really enjoys disrupting the play. Toko and Ince have those qualities, the rest don't to the required level. In that role, I tend to find a defender is better suited.

Palacios is likely to be on huge wages compared to what we can afford, unless he was willing to take a very sizeable wage drop I doubt it's a go-er.

Absolutely, and I truly hope that we limit the amount of times we play Ince and Toko together as is severly limits our attacking options. I just tend to prefer 3 specialists in case one or, God forbid, both gets injured.

I would suggest 4-1-2-2-1 will be our most used formation this year with 4-2-3-1 only coming into play in togher away games.

When he was first here he was Brilliant, his passing was a bit suspect but he wasnt in the side for that.

Then the whole situation with his brother reached a head and he wasn't the same after (who would be) this wasn't helped by injuries mounting up either.

He is a shadow of the player he was, but if you could get him fit and his head is back on football he would be one of the best players in the league in what he would be doing - that is a big IF

I think players have provern that dropping down a league can work at the Albion and it worked brilliantly with Upson and Bridge. Not too sure with Wilson, but if we were to sign him I would happily be proved wrong.

Apparently he's currently on 26k a week and has two years left on his contract with Stoke, if the club can't justify half that for Ward, really can't see Wilson rocking up at the Amex anytime soon.
