Cancelled all 3 of ours last night.
In a sad way I miss Gillingham as up there were the hardcore fans and as crowds were so sparse at times you knew nearly every face
Falmer and again it was like a social gathering every Saturday, having a beer in the Sportsman and then freezing to death or getting soaked, but for the most part it was enjoyable
The Amex, first season was a dream and again we had a ball and the North Stand was a great place to be, but it's become a family stand now full of different people who don't like you standing up and giving abuse to opposing teams and Refs. Stewards who are wannabes and never willbees
and sadly enough is enough for us this season with paying top dollar for an inferior product.
My love for the Albion will never die but the passion is missing for me at The Amex, so hopefully a year off may reignite all of what's missing for me

Yes. Think renewals will be down a bit, but match-day attendances not so much with people deciding to pick and choose knowing there is always availability. Better value to have the ST for me as I'd hope to get to virtually all home games.

I haven't renewed yet. But will be. The only thing holding me back is if I should move my seat in the north stands more central to be with the singers as more and more family are coming to the north stand as it is cheaper. I sit in N1H which is closer to the north east section.
It's surprising to see all the families in the north now.

I cancelled mine yesterday. Will still go sometimes but finding it harder to get the time. Kids growing up, my wife working every other weekend and having a passtime i love more than football at the moment, all about priorities.

I'm curious to know how many away games you go to, after citing transport as a hassle.

Taking into account 20,000+ (occasionally 30,000) people all wanting to do the same thing at the same time, I think transport to and from the stadium is nothing short of miraculous.

Sure we all have the occasional horror story, I've had a good moan on here at The Bridge CP.
But all things considered transport is the least of my worries.

Used to go to a few away games with my son, especially new stadia, special stadia like Anfield and the end of season away games. Made a day or two of it, and saw different parts of England and Wales. Since my son lost interest, I haven't bothered.

It may surprise you, but I totally agree that the way the carefully designed infrastructure and organisation shift 25,000 fans, is a great feat. Also, I have no gripes with the choice of Falmer ... for many recent years I knew an Albion board member who carefully explained to me the site options they had had. Once the Goldstone was 'stolen', Falmer was the only decent option. It's purely a personal thing, the two plus hours max in going to games previously and not needing to plan my transport, but now needing some planning ahead and 3.5 / 4 hours out of a weekend or evening ... I've lost the motivation. All personal views - I respect those who go come rain, shine, cost, league position, quality of football and results. Without them, the city would have a smaller club or none at all.

Will speak to ticket office about getting our s/t's transferred to mates. Probably quitting myself regardless, as its lost the mojo.

Nail on head...i'll probably end up there at some stage....fair number of vacant seats there last night

I'm sorry but that is complete tosh. Just an excuse not to renew.Going to Gillingham was horrific and the atmosphere was non existent. I only went a couple of times because i couldn't stomach it. We are now playing in a great stadium at a decent level of football.
What do you mean people don't like you standing? Where exactly do you sit? I stood at the back every season so far without any abuse from other fans or stewards. I have actually made friends with the people around me as i see the same faces near enough at every home game. The only thing you can really complain about is the divided signing and occasionally dull atmosphere.

Well 1st time we're done 3 wins at home in a row since the St. Patrick's Day Massacre. If that doesn't help ST sales I don't know what will

Went a couple of times to Gillingham only to lose lol. Remember a miserable midweek game in October, rained the whole journey, terrible traffic on top of that, and we also got stuffed.
Got back to the car after the match, dad got a parking ticket and someone had pinched the badge off the front of his car, he wasn't happy. We where both soaked. Dad not with us now, but it just shows how crap things really where. I will renew whatever, all the time I can afford it. I love the stadium and or though we have had a crappy season, things are looking up again. We had to have a bad time at The Amex to appreciate the good times again.

I honestly believe some people are ungrateful. If it comes down to money/work/family then that's fair enough. But to start using a lame excuse like Gillingham/Withdean is quite frankly an insult to what Bloom has built for us. I would love to revisit the Goldstone days and terracing but it isn't going to happen. Certainly not the Goldstone anyway.. If you can't be arse to renew then just say so.
There are a lot of annoying things about modern football that piss me off but not enough for me to pack football in. Well not just yet anyway.

We were STH at Gillingham so went every game not like some who didn't like it because of the non existent atmosphere, we went to support our team, no matter what ground they were playing home games at !
We are in the North Stand in Block D and know a few faces around us but they have become less and less every home game now and young kids and mothers sit around us tutting etc when you let rip
It's more corporate now than before and from my point of view all I read in the programme is how much we have made in beer and pie sales .
So we are not exactly fair weather fans and trip down from Devon every week isn't exactly cheap these days

Respect to you for having a season ticket at Gillingham but please don't compare it to visiting the Amex. It's embarrassing.

Simple question, the letters will go out shortly so are you going to renew ? Yes - definitely no matter what including any price increase, Undecided - wait to see what happens on the pitch or how much they will be or No - Definitely not, had enough

Yes, have done before the Derby game. The cost is the same as this season, so we are confident of staying up.

Trains at Tipping Point

I'm not happy with my seat in East Lower at its price as the view is not so good. Thinking of changing. So the obvious thing is not to renew and see what other seats are available.

In the end, we may all very well renew.

NB: I think for the seats at or near the front are overpriced. That's why there are empty seats to be seen.

It might all very well depend on performances, entertainment, and very importantly the trains. If the trains do not improve (actually getting much worse) fans will stop going. Tempers were getting frayed last night. West Coastway mostly. Trains are shit when the football is not on.

Too many bad train journeys and it will be the final straw for many.

Sounds like you'll have plenty of seats to choose from if you do decide to renew elsewhere in the stadium!
