Many years ago, reading one of the Music Magazines that still existed then,I saw a review for an album by The Go Betweens.
I thought, that sounds interesting, so ordered it.
Played it twice through and thought, this ain't for me, so put it on my pile.

A few months later I was in Tower Records buying a bunch of records when I saw The Go Betweens CD. "I've heard of them somewhere" I thought so added it to my purchases.

It was probably about a week later that I played the record and I was like, I'm sure Ive heard this before.

Didn't bother playing it again.
A couple of years later I am in the HMV Christmas sale.....you know the rest.

Actually realised before I'd even got home, but couldn't be bothered to return it.

Tl;Dr bought same record 3 times, played 3 times.

I keep thinking one day I'll play the album again, but maybe I'll just wait for Harry to tell me whether it's worth playing.
(If he says yes, I'll know not to bother 😜)

I agree with Mrs PG. Does she have From Genesis to Revelation though? (I think their very first?) I can remember buying it in my Nursery Cryme days and being a bit disappointed.
Mrs PG definitely has the higher ground :D

She wasn't a big buyer of records herself in her younger years. She spent a lot of time in her 6th form common room where music was played constantly with other students taking albums in. So early Genesis, Queen, King Crimson, Yes, Pink Floyd etc etc.

I've had a quick listen to 'From genesis to Revelation' ... but not in many years ... which maybe says something.

And don't get me wrong, I love Foxtrot, Selling England etc. Music you can lose yourself to whereas post PG is more 'easy' listening, especially from And Then There Were Three.

Same! I have to be in the right mood to listen to Foxtrot and Selling Engine by the Pound, but Duke is amazing at anytime my husband bought me an Atlantic Audiophile mastered from the original analog tapes 45rpm pressing of a Trick of the Tail, that sounds amazing on the Rega. 😍
