I'll possibly go to Midnight Mass - I don't really mind that (even though I'm an atheist). Our local vicar is quite a laugh and she does make people feel welcome ... she's also a bit of a pisshead according to Mrs G (who's been out drinking with her).

No, we have two services on Sunday but don't have one on Christmas Day. Everyone including the ministers would rather be at home with their families.

ill be going down christmas eve - few pints in the pub, head down the church for a good old fashioned sing song and a kiss from old women at midnight

apart from dinner, id go as far as to say that midnight mass is the highlight of my christmas

Yup, I'll be going.
I'm working, so unless we are out on a job we always drive the fire engine round to the church just before midnight on Christmas Eve, shuffle to the back, sing up and think of our families.

For the guys with families close at hand its nice as they can meet up with their loved ones and exchange christmas kisses at midnight before we go back to the station. For those of us, like me, with families hundreds of miles away, its just a nice place to be, and I'll be thinking of my mum and dad and my 3 sisters.

I'm not religious, but church doesn't always have to be about religion. It can be about love and caring for people when they need it.

Will go to church service this Sunday to soak up the Christmas atmosphere, but not on Christmas day.
