All that time to stew during the World Cup and every game like his own personal cup final when the Premier League resumes. Oh well, couldn't happen to a nicer guy
He will use the time to work intensively with his team, except that most of them are actually at the world cup or injured. Still, will be nice for the U23 squad.

Personally, I don't take "Once a XXX, always a XXX" to mean "I will stay with XXX forever".

More along the lines of "XXX will always be in my heart".

That said, I've literally just thrown away my El Capitan T-shirt. :D
No, me either. If he had left independently to go and work anywhere else, he would have been wished well, as Liam Rosenior was, as Nathan Jones was. Leaving clutching Potters coat tails was a bit painful.

Some very funny comments on their youtube channels :

"We shot ourselves in the foot by ditching Tuchel. Potter is hopeless. Can't believe we PAID, yes PAID £22m to bring him in. And don't get me started on the £62m for Cucurella - he's not worth the cost of a box of jaffa cakes! Talk about throwing money away."

And loads of others on the same theme.
The thing is, he'll probably come out ok in the end. It's why there was so much bouncing of threads and tension between the "in" and "out" on here during our really bad spells. Potterball takes time to learn and it takes technical players who want to improve themselves. That could take a few windows when you have a club stuffed with overpaid prima donnas. So, will he really be given that time? Boehly says so at the moment but their fans are fuming after a couple of months.

Meanwhile, Chelsea will be the little girl with the curl. Either very, very good or horrid. And their last four games have been horrid.

When you think about it, Chelsea was always the top 6 club most I’ll-suited to him taking time to set things up. Of them, Spurs, United and Liverpool could probably have tolerated more of a slow build-up, but Chelsea have shown time and again they’re all about instant results and the last few games always count more for / against the manager there than anywhere else. And he’d have almost certainly got a crack at at least one of them had he waited.

But no, first chance he got he jumped, even though it was a terrible choice. And he’ll end up paying the price, through alienating their fans and ruining his (well deserved) reputation.

Essentially, he could have waited and ended up with Scarlett Johansson, but instead he jumped the gun and went home with Anne Widdicombe.

It wasn’t the first time. He already turned down an approach from Spurs when they appointed Nuno

The England job was probably his for the taking after the World Cup. Would have still been a nice big pay rise and far less grief than he'll get at Chelsea. Oh well

Yes.

Ben Roberts is a different case I imagine and could have been guaranteed a job. Bruno not so much
Not a chance, if either of them wanted to stay, they’d still be here, there is no way Tony Bloom would have sacked Bruno, hell would have frozen over first.
The lack of “job guarantee” was the clubs and Brunos way of trying to soften the blow that he was part of Chelsea’s enticement.

Ironically if Bruno had stayed he would have elevated himself from legend to some god like status, and can you imagine both him and De Zerbi on the touchline, it would have been absolute carnage in a beautiful way !

who knows, but forcing 2 coaches onto a new manager doesn’t seem very Tony Bloom to me.

Roberts is a bit different as he’s a specialist coach and one of the most rated GK coaches in England , but Bruno not so much.

There's no doubt that Bruno would have a job at the Albion had he wanted, but would he have a job he wanted?

Most managers have an established group they work with, and they'll move from club-to-club with that manager. It's exactly what we've seen with De Zerbi. I just don't think it's the case that the club could bring in De Zerbi, or similar, and say "Oh, by the way, one condition of you coming here is you have to keep our chap Bruno as a senior first team coach." because the chances are the incoming manager already has a trusted man for that specific role.

So, yes, Bruno could have retained a job at the Albion, but he may have been relegated to cone and bibs supervisor, at least initially.

You may well be right, but whatever the reality, he’s still a big bald beardy *shithouse

*until he comes back and leads us to the top of the premier league, then he’ll be a legend again !

I am no lip-reader, but Dan Burn did not 'boo' Bruno in the altercation after the Toon-Chelsea game. Seemed to be more like 'how are you, old Chap?'
That body language wasn’t friendly in the slightest, with the jabbing of his finger towards Bruno. Burn definitely wasn’t asking after his wife and kids.

More like, would TB employ a new manager that gets rid of everything and everyone associated with the clubs previous managers (that's managers) and held up by the fans as a legend to the point where he's got a bloody lounge named after him?

Would TB take the risk of throwing out everything that has been built over the last 3 years?

No. Imo.

And, hypothetically, would you see RDZ keeping Bruno and Roberts as first team coaches?

Yes. Imo.

That's why we have experienced BHAFC coaches in the RDZ set up.

Either way, onwards and upwards and UTA

I'm bored of the whole booing Potter nonsense - We may not agree, but I believe we wouldn't be where we are without Potter, and although the timing and the move stung like hell, a section of our fanbase are coming off like bitter exes - we're so much better than that. Good luck to him - he's earned his crack at the "big time", and if it doesn't work, well, it's not our problem is it - we've got BBDZ who at the moment seems like an upgrade. I'm thankful for what Potter did for us, and I am keeping an eye on Chelsea's progress, but I won't revel in his struggles.
