No matter how many times the majority of our fans say it, plastic prem social media fans and journos just don’t get it. IT’S BECAUSE HE HAS GUTTED MOST OF THE COACHING STAFF MID SEASON AND SHOWN NO RESPECT - Winstanley approach was the last straw. This is how many many of us feel and that’s why him and that club of dirty money were targeted yesterday. So simple!

I would love to see just one media outfit quote those reasons and show some understanding how the Brighton fans feel about these money grabbing *****
Agree and Brighton fans, if you go on National Radio as many have done about this, FFS tell it like it is. Don’t go all soppy and say you don’t agree with, Potter’s a legend blah blah. Honestly, that’s why we’re always portrayed as a nice club with nice fans who leave earlier so they don’t miss Strictly or have to read Aubergina and Flymo their bed time story.

A few more fatwas and throat cutting gestures towards the opposition wouldn’t go a miss at the Amex!! Chelsea came, were conquered and I hope they had to walk back to Cobham. And breath…:ascarf::hilton:

Bore Off

A word used by unintelligent and simple people who are unable to come up with a witty response and so turn to this phrase instead.

(Urban Dictionary)
Go and eat a pie. Had we not booed yesterday, the atmosphere would have been flat and we would have probably not won. It was excellent yesterday and that's because football is pantomime, why I love it. But rightly, most fans are royally pissed off with his ripping out of our club from it's talented team. It really is a shit way to treat an employer who supported you when times were tough. He deserved all the abuse he got yesterday and some. Glad 95% of the fans there made some noise and didn't sit on their hands and clap when cucurella got the ball or potter came out of the dugout. Everything that's wrong with modern football if that happened.

Potter is an over-promoted mediocrity. Fair play to Arctic Benny for making a silk purse out of a sow's ear and providing for his family's future a hundred times over, genuine respect for doing that. But every time the chips go even slightly tits-down 'Emotional Intelligence' is the very last thing you'd associate with the guy. Wow does he not react well to any sort of criticism. Maybe he flunked that part of the poly course

We won the game because the players were up for it from the start and scored after 5mins! Atmosphere is always great at the Amex when we go ahead against one of the big four, nothing to do with Booing!

Anyway you are right in one way that football is pantomime, fans are not rational as its emotional and tribal. To everyone else football is just business, employees come and go and thats just life. The club have benefitted financial and hopefully with the succession planning that Bloom seems to have in place, we won't be impacted significantly on or off the pitch.

Felt a little sad for Bruno, he looked dejected as his new team got hammered…. 😂

But seriously, felt sorry for him, I didn’t boo him or Potter, but I did Cucurella, the whole transfer thing was annoying. I wonder if Bruno will return to Spain in the next couple of years.

Credit to Ben Roberts for taking the boo’s at half-time in good part, and doing a dummy when warming up Mendy, which apparently caught most of the North Stand as well….

The Bruno boo's were baffling. He's a club legend and was with us for 10 years! If he had gone to Palace, I would understand it, but did Bruno really have to stay with the club indefinitely to be treated with some respect by the fans?

What a weird thing to write. The hot atmosphere was generated before a ball was kicked. Chelsea were so shellshocked, we had three great chances in the first 5min.

And Cucurella definitely looked impacted by the booing.

Whats weird is that you think that the Chelsea players who play at stadiums week in and week out where the atmosphere is often much hotter than at the Amex would be affected by some Boo's!!

Brighton fans were a disgrace apparently:

This made me laugh lots. The last time I saw Jamie O'Hara he was making a sharp exit down the Amex tunnel to get away from the Wolves fans singing '£40,000*, You're having a laugh!" after two goals from Kaz had sent them into the third tier. Presumably the mention of the Amex and booing gave him some kind of PTSD flashback and he started screaming back at his persecutors from that day. Don't worry Jamie. They can't hurt you now.

* - His weekly wage in the Championship in 2013! That's over two million quid for the services of Jamie O'Hara! Almost ten years ago! The only thing madder is that somebody is paying him for his opinions about football.

I think this article nicely summed up why I booed.

@Rambo should be claiming an assist for this line...

"When Potter was asked about the reception he was accorded by the Amex crowd, he said he had nothing to say sorry for. Which was an odd response, because nobody at Brighton has ever asked for an apology."

...as the author surely took it from his thread: https://nortr3nixy.nimpr.uk/threads/did-anyone-actually-ask-graham-for-an-apology.397529/

I've taken great delight in telling Chelsea Twitter, 'thin skinned GPott isn't quite as good as he'll have you believe, you'll be booing him long before we get another crack at it'.

Now sure there's a bit of tribalistic hyperbole in that, but were it actually to be true I'll not be swooning to the floor in complete surprise.
