Amidst the euphoria of our current form and attractive style we must be drawing attention to certain players. Murray we already know about but Bennett will be getting a lot of attention and I think so will Elphick. I just hope that we keep these guys as they are the way forward but bills still have to be paid and if a 'silly' offer came in would we be able to refuse it ?

Elphick is tied down on a long contract.I'm sure the radio said 4 years. It would take a big bid to sign him.

I'm more concerned about Poyet being snapped up.

After that players like Lua Lua being nicked from under our noses.

Don't forget we are not in the same situation as a few years ago. We have a new chairman, a new stadium coming along. Why would'nt players and managers not want to stay here.

Calderon and Lua Lua all need to be signed as soon as possible. Brilliant players and must be kept along with Gus.

Bennett seems very, very happy at Brighton and could see him being here a long time. You could see last night how much he cares about the club.

I'm sure Elphick is desperate to get to Falmer.

It's Calderon, Painter and Lua Lua that I'm concerned about holding onto.

We will always lose players to bigger clubs. Even Manure do. I also think most scouts and managers would recognise that the improvement in form of a lot of our players is down to the management team, changes in coaching, improving confidence etc and spotting quality players to bring in. Losing the management team would be a bigger blow, but as others have written, we are in a stronger position to resist that now.

From the Albion podcast, Painter sounded very happy to be here. I think the fact that Poyet reached out to Calderon when others wouldn't take him on will swing him to signing a new contract, and Lua Lua has stated numerous times that he wants to stay here.

Gus has everyone happy and brimming with confidence, I'm not sure why anyone would really want to move on to a less certain future now.

Every player and manager has his price. If someone is willing to pay it, they'll be gone.

There's not the same pressing need to be a selling club to survive anymore. With Falmer on the horizon, there's probably a more pressing need to build an attractive team to fill it. If the club could guarantee play of the high quality on display last night, then word would quickly spread and players and fans would want to be a part of the success.

I think this is where the 'Falmer factor' will really kick in both in keeping and signing new players. In the past Falmer has always been 'there' but a players' career is short and we've had many who signed woith falmer a promise.

Now falmer is really there, the players have seen it, we;ve seen it. We have an opening date and alot of those players know that, with falmer, we will once again become a 'real' club and one that's on a roll. the days of us losing players to the likes of Colchester are over!

The only reason we will sell is because we want to, the player wants to move, a falling out or a very good offer (or mixture of these reasons).
