He won't get a call up in this division. Until him and Lynch are playing Champ football it's difficult to say if they are good enough. Both have the potential though.

Agreed, but i am very confident they can both be successful at championship level. If we can keep them until falmer, they will lead us all the way to the prem!!!! No pressure.

Don't forget though, when Harding got his call ups we were still seen as a nation incapable of producing left backs.

Centre backs are supposedly our forte so I would've thought the selectors would be scouring the Premiership and Championship long before they had any scouts watching little old Brighton.

Of course I'd love to see him get the honour and wish him every bit of luck in achieving greatness. Notably however, he was quoted in the weekends Sports Argus as saying that receiving the captains armband for your home town club was the greatest honour he could imagine. So either he puts less impetus on international football or he's just not thinking about it.

Not sure Elphick will get near the under 21's. He has been a revelation this season and deserves the praise. However he does lack a yard of pace, his positional play generally makes up for this, but at a much higher level it might be an issue.

Lynch is the far more likely one, he is quick, left footed (still a rarity), actually has decent distribution, however is also prone to silly mistakes (a bit like Ferdinand in the past).

At last, some common sense. As has been said many times on NSC, especially by Gavin or whatever his real name is, this division is toilet.

Also don't forget one of his ex managers was the England U21 manager at the time as well.

Have people already forgotten that the fact Harding (and Hinshelwood warming the bench for 1 game) only made the u21's due to Peter Taylor's influence. As much as Tommy Elphick deserves it the national team don't look that far down the league anymore.

Are the under 18s easier to get into? Our reserve keeper has made an appearance.

I agree with those that think that Lynch has the greater POTENTIAL.

Elphick has been brilliant though, but will not play for the u-21s as they will not look at league 1*

*except possibly at MASSIVE clubs like Leeds.
