f*** me this week is gonna be horrible.

The fact that we pretty much HAVE to win (cos i believe carlise will do millwall) is making me feel sick with nerves already.

Stockport will be bang up for this make no mistake its gonna be a f***ing battle.

hmmmmm

Just wondering if Stockport’s financial position would lead them to fielding a weakened side on Saturday with maybe wanting to save player bonus money I.e. appearance money or goal bonus .?

They may well do, given that Jim Gannon will be our manager at the start of next season, he won't want to be in League 2!!!

In their position I would play for time and be unable to attend the meeting with the bank until after the weekend. That would mean that the season is finished so no points deduction if they go into adminstration the following week. They then have 9 months to make up the 10 points or whatever.

It depends on Gannon's intentions. I believe Gannon to be a thoroughly professional guy. If Stockport are safe, he may take the opportunity to look at some of the players who are out of contract in the summer or some kids (as would many managers - I remember McGhee doing this before). If Stockport are in financial trouble they may only be able to afford to re-sign some of the junior squad members. If Stockport do get an unlikely 10 point deduction I would expect them to play out of their skins and also not allow Dicker to play.

I guess we will not know until 2.45 on Saturday.

Why?!? they are safe, even with a 10 point deduction

Fair enough, I thought they wern't with the amount it had been discussed on here... I haven't actually been bothered to look at the table myself.

There's more chance of me being our manager next season...

They'll be much more outcry if Slade goes in the summer after keeping us up then there was when Wilkins was sacked.

What possible reason would there be for them to field a weakened side. Some weak ass thinking going on here.

Jim Gannon cannot win - if he sends us down and wants the job - he is in League 2 - if he throws the game - he will not get the job anyway - Russell Slade will for keeping us up - which is what we all want isn't it?

I think what is interesting is what happens with the 50/50 balls, and just how much will Stockport "want it" as the second half comes to a close.

Top of the league on currrent performance, how good is that, lets get this shit season out the way. Already getting excited about next season.
The only thing that will beat us on Saturday is complacentcy, thinking it will be a walkover, lets hope that doesn't happen.:albion2:

they will be fielding a weakened side because we have two of their best players this season "jimmy mac" and Dicker who I personally hope we keep, not as though I would want them to field a weak side ...we can beat them anyway.

have some confidence.

Judging by their recent results, they will certainly be fielding a weak side, but that's the best they've got.
