Just wondering if Stockport’s financial position would lead them to fielding a weakened side on Saturday with maybe wanting to save player bonus money I.e. appearance money or goal bonus .?

No , they will want to end the season with a win. Players will be looking at earning new contracts or new clubs and doing their best to impress. The Albion will be doing the completely same thing.

i dont think they will have much money left in the summer to even offer the tea lady a new contract. I just hope that they might want to save a few grand before the summer. Having said that if they do lose 10 points then they need the win as much as us.

Why all this about a possible 10 point deduction? As I posted on another thread CEO of Stockport said on SSN that there is not a possibility that they will go into administration and are preparing for next season with Jim Gannon as manager plus some new signings in the summer.

When do they find out if the points will be deducted ? That hugely important bit of info could massively affect the game.

Plus, any clubs interested in any of the stockport players would have been tracking them for a while. I dont think they will base any purchasing decisions on wether they play well against us or not.

Hopefully Dicker will give his mates a buzz and ask for a favour for Saturday too... Ha !!!

The way they played against crewe the other night it looked like their lives depended on it,this will not be a easy game at all, would have much rather come up against a team currently safe in the playoffs,Carlisle have millwall and to me thats a home win,we must be at our very best saturday and expect no favours.

No. Course they wont. lets just concentrate on ourselves not sounding desperate about whether Stockport will feild a weaker side!

They would be safe surely, If they lost to us and carlisle won, there goal difference is so much better they wouldnt go down. Not looking forward to this week, going to be extremely nervy.

Why should they or have they been placed in administration and both I and their CEO have missed it?

well when they cannot even afford to pay to have any police attend their last home game and had to accept a handout from their groundsharing rugby club (sale sharks) so that the game can even take place, it does make you wonder...

One of the reasons they played out of their skins on Friday was that the game was a Cheshire derby match played in front of one of their largest crowds of the season because Crewe, not renowned for their away support ,took a lot of fans along. So local pride was at stake - not the same as a long trip to the Sussex coast.

Unless I have a promise in wriritng from Knight that I've got the job next season I wouldn't expect Slade to be going anywhere. Gannon doesn't strike me as a man who does people favours... he's a professional.

Let's not be silly here - they will take the game to us make no mistake.
Gannon is obviously no mug, or else we wouldn't have been interviewing him for our management (..er.... and he didn't accept the job :jester: ).

We have to play this match like our lives depend on it, because they virtually DO depend on it.

Russ Slade and our lads have something to prove, as well as needing to win to make sense of the recent tough, solid wins - away and at home. That's a LOT TO PLAY FOR!

Stockport have a meeting with the bank on May 1st. Could be in administration by the end of the week. Things are really tight up here and all the players want away. Gannon is hoping someone will come in for him in the summer, but their current form is very poor.
