Leed United are a very big club with a big following, remember they were in the Champions League not so long ago and are probaly about the 8th best supported club in England.

Leeds has brought out all the occasional Albion fans and means more regular (admittedly non-season ticket holder) fans like myself cannot get tickets. :censored:

People seem to forget although Leeds where in the Champions league semis about four years ago its not the same team we will be playing its a bunch of nobodys matched together to play for a skint overrated Divison one side

We haven't played them for years, they used to be in the premiershite and they could have brought 3-4 thousand fans....thats why everyone is talking about it. It brings home the Falmer point once again. I should think West Ham willl generate the same sort of interest.

As for bringing out the "occasional" albion fan....the ballot for tickets was advertised long ago.....if you wanted a ticket you had the chance to apply with everyone else!

I'll go to Elland Rd and take time off work for it. I'll probably stop over at my son's house.

I still have my programmes from the early 80's when we played there before

In the evolution of things most teams find their place in the league. It is based on town size, wealth, leisure pursuits and history.

We are now ironically exactly where we should be mid to lower half of championship. Leeds should be in the top 5 of the premiership. They are having the worst time of their history but will probably be in the top 5 of the premiership again within 5 years.

i seem to remember a certain south coast team sending leeds down from the old 1st division on the last day of the season. leeds were then bankrupt and with todays new regulations would have been expelled from the league. the local council bought the ground to inject a few coppers into the bank. one end of the ground had large pillers but no stand because they could not afford to complete the stand. the pitch was a mess. therefore thay have been there before and this leads me to believe that they attempt to be a bigger club than they actually are. some have said they should be in the top 5 in the country, rubbish!!

And before anyone says, they played in the Champion's League a few seasons ago - remember Millwall were in Europe this season and Forest won it twice. In a row. Puts Leeds into perspective.

Well said. Forest was my most anticipated game this season (missed it 2 years ago). Went up there, we won, marvellous scenes.

I guess the main interest is caused by the fact that they have the potential to bring so many supporters. A full and noisy away enclosure is expected / guaranteed.

I still think that West Ham will be just the same when the time comes.

For me, it's the away games to these places that excites me. I just hope I can manage to work a way of getting to Leeds. Trains are probably as much of an option as for Derby / Nottingham - i.e. a non-starter for midweek, as you can't get home after the match.

Leeds should be one of the top 5 sides in the UK. Arsenal, Man Utd, Liverpool and then Leeds. It is the biggest side we have ever played at the Withdean.

A question? Why should they?

considering they were tipped to win the premiership a few years back and used to spend more frequently than united, and nearly got to the champions league. thats why

But that was then, it's now 2004 with a different team and they are not good enough for the premiershipr. You get relegated from the top league when this happens.

So again, why should they be up with Man Utd?? They aren't good enough to be a top team!

*I may just be being stupid though*
