all their players will be up for sale but it dosent matter because owusu will be a free agent in the summer because he only signed a one year deal with cheltenham last summer.
OK, this was what Owusu had to say to us last night.
He left Cheltenham because they knew they were going down, he had a clause in his contract that meant he would be elegible for another year there, on a higher salary. They knew they wouldn't be able to afford that in League Two so hence he went out on loan to get in the shop window.
He likes it a lot at Brighton, likes Slade a lot and said he would definately sign if the right offer was made. I got the feeling that was also assuming Slade stayed.
He has never met Martin Perry, and has no idea who Derek Chapman is, neither had he been to the clubs main offices, he signed his deal at the training ground. I told him Martin wears knitted suits.
He is out of contract in the summer i believe, didnt they send him on loan as if he played one more game he would be entitled to a new contract due to a clause in his contract? I think he deserves a contract, for the goals he has scored and effort put in, seeing as if we stay up it will be his goals that saved us really. For him to do as well as he has done, and then for us to kick him in the teeth to me is unfair, however i agree that with Davies, Forster, Murray and possibly hart, do we really need him?
Oh,that was the other thing he said, with Murray, Forster, Davis and Hart he knew he would be struggling to get a deal. He believes a club should have 2 senior strikers, one loanee and one junior striker. Oh, and he definately had a glint in his eye at the mention of "if" Murray was still with us next season.
Hart can NOT play in many positions, that thought has spoilt his career. He is a striker, plain and simple. I've said it a few times, I don't want Owusu signed permanently. We've got Davies, Murray and Forster, and we've got Hart aswell with Dixon and Gargan in reserve. We've got enough imo.
