Complete joke. Should have given him pay as you play contract.

The club though do seem to have an unwritten policy that if a player gets injured in the final year of their contract, they'll give them an additional year. (See Hinshelwood as well). I think its quite commendable, that a player gets a further 12 months to rehabilitate and then prove their worth, obviously in this case, if he is out for a further 12 months, they might want to write it off......

What does a players insurance cover? or is that for not being able to play the game again?

Isn't it normally 'end of career', as if they are under contract they'll be paid. I suppose the better known players may have insurance for their faces, in case they kicked and lose money for a merchandise shot or advertising...... How times have changed!
