So who is stupid enough to still be defending/deflecting/whatabouting Cummings in the face of all evidence to the contrary ?
I'll guess at

I can't see how that is the reason... How come all the other mispelled variations of his name which include "Cum" Or "Cumm" rank in the top 20 of the twitter trends, but the correct spelling doesn't even make the listings?
It's not a profanity filter issue as these Twitter users are able to use the correct spelling of the hashtag just fine - https://twitter.com/search?q=#dominiccummings&src=typed_query
Hey Baker Lite I think you're an odious ****. Go report that you enormous snowflake
Pressure being put on Johnson now to make a statement today.
****s sake Johnson show a spine and some leadership, stop hiding.
Except that they made it worse by instead choosing to double down, demand that cabinet ministers publicly defend him and have Boris say nothing. Shapps has been made to look a complete idiot by Marr without any effort at all. Which means the problem is now bigger than just what Cummings did (which was stupid, but not the end of the world and manageable with an apology, a resignation, pulling strings behind the scenes for a while and then return at some point).
Either very bad management of the situation, or something else going on.
1) If he made one trip to Durham as best solution to have child cared for if either of them went down with virus that is exceptional circumstances and a lot of fuss about nothing.
2) If he made further trip after returning to London he is in trouble.
3) if found 2 not true typical of our media and said papers should face hefty fine and apology
Superspreader !
I don’t think Johnson will sack him, it would be like Emu sacking Rod Hull. He may resign.

You omitted JCFG. The Footy Genius is currently in the building, but hasn't responded to any of this morning's posts or today's front pages as yet. It may well be that The Conservative Campaign Headquarters have told him to hold fire for now.
It's entirely possible that most grandparents including many elderly Tory voters in the shires would understand that trying to make sure a young grandchild is properly cared for when both parents are self-isolating/ill is understandable, (certainly not the crime of the century described by Cummings haters) as they would help out in similar circumstances.
The cabinet rallies round ....
I know how ill coronavirus makes you. It was entirely right for Dom Cummings to find childcare for his toddler, when both he and his wife were getting ill.

Taking care of your wife and young child is justifiable and reasonable, trying to score political points over it isn’t. https://t.co/QVkFmKgOsW
— Rishi Sunak (@RishiSunak) May 23, 2020
It’s reasonable and fair to ask for an explanation on this. And it has been provided: two parents with Coronavirus, were anxiously taking care of their young child. Those now seeking to politicise it should take a long hard look in the mirror. https://t.co/fvfvPmlccQ

Caring for your wife and child is not a crime https://t.co/YCXWhKTq28
