No he wasn't - all he did was shag someone who wasn't his wife (not commendable, but not illegal). There was a great media witch-hunt and a general panic in government that secrets were being passed to the Russians through one of Keeler's other shag buddies. They weren't.

Like the King you mean, oh that's alright then

Will Cummings go ?

You don't recall the Thatcher years then? - when dear old Michael Foot (aka Corbyn Mk.I) was 'in charge' (I use the term loosely) of Militant Tendency - sorry, I mean the Labour Party.

Was PM during my childhood so was not really aware of or into politics beyond the chicken song!! Obviously have since heard and read about that time so appreciate for others who lived through those times would remember worse times

To all the outraged a question why hasn't Cummings been charged by the Police ?. They have said no offence happened which seems at odds to all the uproar. Charge him and then it's easy he should fall on his sword as it would be indefensible

Yes the beach scenes are worrying it’s almost as if people no longer have any faith in the rules or rule makers I wonder what could have helped trigger that

nothing to do with the rules, just brain dead people thinking it's all over as if it was all a hoax

Have never said he did nothing wrong. Just what he did was understandable. He had worked closely with PM and with wife ill, had to consider who could look after child if they had virus and had to enter hospital. In circumstances my wife and I would have done same. By the way I am not a Tory supporter.

Yes but the government instructions regarding the elderly was pretty clear, unless his parents are sensationally young. He also has relatives in London.

Johnson shows no leadership and no humility. It's a joke that Cummins pulls his strings

The arrogance in his press conference beggars belief

As I posted above they have only just started their investigation over the last few days.

What the newspapers got wrong (originally) was that they said that the Police had already spoke to his father about Cummings naughty trip.

This was based in a statement the Police gave to the newspapers.

In reality, it was the father who contacted the Police regarding security advice.

This has clearly embarrassed Durham Police who have are now undertakening a full investigation.

They took a statement from the retired chemistry teacher in the last few days.

Now Cummings had admitted a potential further offence I'm sure he well get a ticking off at least.

But there's the point, millions felt that they couldn't do this, millions felt that they couldn't see ill or dying relatives - The implication of what Cummings, Johnson et al are saying, and to a lesser extent yourself, is that Cummings did the right thing, so everyone else is a bad parent/son/daughter/sibling etc. The understanding of the vast majority was that they simply could not take the action that Cummings did, that's why so many are so angry.

I think one of the reasons some people don’t want to believe Cummings has lied here is because this is the man that got Brexit through. They’re thinking if he’s prepared to lie about this, what lies has he told them about Brexit.......

They’re right to be scared.

No-ones screaming for a policeman apparently, they are all just having a cheeky laugh at other posters. More likely they are devastated all the avocados have sold out at Waitrose and Karen put a dent in the X5 this morning trying to park.

Great, and witty, point.

I still don't think they ask 60m people though.

What sort of a plonker mocks up a photoshop with Uwe Rösler's head on a Brighton player's torso?

Dear oh dear.
