Wow! I have always thought that underneath the silly nonsense there was a sensible fan trying to get out.

But "criticism of Poyet is justified (because of press rumours)" ?....sadly that is clearly not the case and you really are the prize prat you appear :(

couldnt have put it better

Thickest post of all time. Justified because a paper has printed a transfer rumour. Brilliant.

What an idiot that's made you look!

You are criticising Poyet for getting our players to such a good standard that PREM teams are considering bidding for them?

Really.

That's your criticism. That a team MIGHT bid for one of our players.

Even if you are wind up merchant, at least do a wind up based on SOMETHING.

Because of tabloid speculation? Dear lord, remove your head from your arse, take off your anti-Poyet specs and realise that this (currently) is purely speculation. DO you honestly think we would sell one of our best players for a small sum?

Really? Let's think about this again. Beginning of the season we were cruising. Top of the league. All we needed on transfer deadline day was a target man. Simple.

What happened? Signed a load of slow, average midfielders to fit into an already packed average midfield, sold an exciting young winger, and got in a fat lazy short arse idiot up front who can't even get a game. 3 wins in 16 I think someone mentioned? Shocking form, and a couple more draws and we're in the bottom half.

If we were in the top 3, do you think we'd be in a selling position? No, of course we wouldn't, it'd be like Bennett a couple of years ago, we'd tell them to do one until the summer.

Now though, are we vulnerable? Yes. If a Premier League team wants Buckley/Bridcutt, will they want out, even if they are shit and going down? Yes. They aren't going to want to spend their time knocking the ball about painfully slowly in league 1 and watching rubbish strikers miss sitters all season, when they could take a premiership wage for 6 months and possibly stay up, or perhaps find themselves back in this position next year at worse, with a much bigger wage.

It doesn't matter if this is only a rumour, it's plain to see we're now in a position where it's so much harder to keep our best players.

I think Poyet would lose my respect and support if he lets Buckly go, for less than 5 mill.

He has not really set the club alight with his signings.....yes a few good ones but a few shite ones.

Ambition...we need players like Buckley if we are ever to make the EPL

We need a bloody away end.

We can't have a thread on here now without these bloody plastic 'only here 'cos we are doing well' Palace fans turning every football related thread into a cock waving 'we're better than you' competition. This in turn means the usual suspects (me included sometimes) bite and that's the end of another perfectly good thread.

Please make them go away.

agreed im getting seriously pissed off with Palace scum infesting every thread.

Away end please Bozza

Can't believe we sold Noone for £1.5m to a promotion rival.

That's the Wenger approach of bean-counting and balance sheets, whilst other clubs strive for trophies or promotion success.

Let's supplement Buckley, with our first, class and consistent finisher since Murray.

£1.5 million? prove it.

Ladies and gentlemen,

a little realism here please.

99 percent of transfer stories in newspapers are either planted by agents hoping to engineer lucrative moves for their clients or fabricated by journalists with space to fill on the grounds that they have a sort of logic to them.

Example - a couple of years ago a manager joined a Premier League club in the north that needed its defence shoring up. A writer on a large-circulation tabloid whose name rhymes with Bun linked the manager with a move for a Portuguese defender at a southern club where he had previously worked.

That made sense - at least to anyone who was unaware that the manager had been seeing rather a lot of this player's wife while working at the southern club and that the player in question would be the last bloke he'd want to see on the training ground every day, and vice versa.

So someone thinks that Southampton need a winger and has noticed that we have quite a good one. They won't be aware that Gus has said that any club is going to have to pay through the nose for any of our players or that Adkins has said he's wary of any January transfer window moves.

Count up the number of transfer stories that turn out to accurate and you may find them outnumbered by moves that no-one predicted at all.

Southampton may well be "ready" to offer £2M but who says we're "ready" to accept it ?
Let's face it - they'll be back in the Championship come next season so what will Buckley have gained - 3 months in an under achieving squad getting stuffed every week. f*** all point in it

IF it is true, he would get a nice juicy signing on fee
And no player on the up signs for less money per week,
There's 2 reasons he might go

Wish the mods would prevent palace posters commenting on threads about brighton players. Should be a ban.
Don't be silly, you had a 130+ page about Wilf, infact, about different 30 threads about Wilf . It's an internet page BV, you are welcome to come and go virtually anywhere on the internet and most places won't take their ball home. :D

Nadkins should be told the asking price is £10M cash or £7M cash plus Fat Rickey. Take it or leave it.

The 130+ pages thread about Winifred is actually more of a piss-take about a tinpot club in SE25 if you happen to read it properly.

2 m - 2 more than Zaha and we talk. Before that on your bike!

Adkins' opening offer for Buckley is reportedly £2m. Arsene Wenger's opening offer for Zaha is reportedly £12m. Just think about that.

Merry Christmas. Now get to bed kids, or you'll get nothing from Santa!
