Sounds a bit of a costly exercise for 4 thousand more seats.

Especially when, I'm sure(?), the ends could be made bigger without affecting the load bearing arches. Still that wouldn't be cheap either.(and then there's the planning issues..................)

I would assume the "cheapest" way to get more seats in (other than the easyjet option) would be to lower the pitch - the stands would then have more rows going down from the current 1st row. It's what 700 seats per level? so 5 more rows is 3,500ish more seats. No idea if it's technically possible.

I think both the above options would be looked at before raising the arches, by then the capacity would be high enough not to require it.

In all honesty, about 30k will be plenty enough for many years to come.
