When Whing was here last season and Fraser played on the right of midfield we looked very good because Fraser tucked in and allowed Whing to overlap.

It gave us a more solid midfield and made the most of Whing's good delivery etc.

It was only when Whing left that Fraser's lack of width was exposed somewhat.

With Whing back I would certainly start Fraser on the right tucking in.

That's a good point, providing opposition doesn't exploit lack of width on right & keep Whing busy defending. However, reading reports from pre-season games would suggest Whing has the ability of looking for defence splitting passes - even though they may not come off every time. His crossing ability will also be key to any attacking moves, if we play Fraser tucking in with midfield - this will give us a 3-5-2 formation when going forward & could even give one of midfield (Cox or Hammond, possibly) the chance to get in & around penalty area looking for goals/hassling defenders etc.

Looking forward to first game at Crewe, even though our record at Gresty Road is not good. About time we got off to a good start - a result (win or draw) would be great, but would like to see us put in a good performance also. I for one will making some noise, feel free to join in if your going!!
