Zaha is up against Lewis Dunk and Matt Phillips for the Championship's young player of the year award at the Football League Awards tonight.

Assuming he wins (he will of course, because he is one of the finest players this country has ever seen), I've heard on the grapevine that his value will soar and prompt an offer from Barcelona of £250 million plus Lionel Messi and Gerard Pique.

Palace would turn it down though because they've got loads of money (billionaire owners I hear) AND Paddy McCarthy.

Surprised you lot even have the cheek to mention Our Wilf after he tore your full back a new arse hole at the Amex. Still, I hope that Dunk wins young player of the season after that outrageous skill at Anfield. Wilf would've been proud!

This is true. You were probably wondering where he went in the second half at Selhurst though. I'm guessing it was either (a) in Adam El Abd's pocket, or (b) sobbing in the dressing room somewhere because the officials rumbled his incessant diving and stopped giving him free kicks.

Palace do seem to be getting a few more penalty's than usual , have they bought in Tom Daley as a specialist coach ? I don't think Palace will let him go for less than £350M

Some of the comments on this thread about Zaha are just a complete joke, his value must be way north of £400M

Why do people still have a go at our players. Yes you are entitled to your opinion but that doesn't always mean you should actually speak it. Brighton are the highest I've ever seen them and with a new ground lots of investment and an exciting young ambitious manager and yet people still moan. Would you rather be at withdean with shit players or where we are now. Ashley Barnes may not be the best player in the world but he is ours and we should feel lucky to have him some of the abuse he recieves is unacceptable how would your family feel if you got that sort of abuse. Just because it's football doesn't mean it's ok. People who abuse our own players are just as bad as the idiots that are racist or homophobic and prahaps you should find a new hobby

1 league game in which he shone (and didn't he do well against what was a team of league 1 players last season  ), what a pity for him the season is over 46 games. Still, at the rate he's going only the queen herself will ever be able to afford his ever growing transfer value and even that might be pushing it :D

We are only mentioning your star player because we are so envious of you having such an amazing player. I hear he is already on the way to a knighthood. Well done and rise up Sir Will!

TB is rich but I doubt even he could afford the £800M asking fee.

No he's out of our league I'm afraid. I think he's possibly the best lower league player in history apart from Geoff Thomas of course.

Although as zaha came through the palarse academy it would be fair to say that's where he LEARNT (ie was taught) that particular skill.

Yup, he's up for young player of the year this season after one good game :dunce:

He's been terrific in parts this season; seriously unplayable. Moses was a great player, and is starting to show that at Wigan, but I reckon that Wilf beats players with more ease than Victor did. And he's only 19, so he's a good 5 years away from his prime. Yeah, he takes a tumble every now and then, but from watching you this season, you're in no position to hold the moral highground on that one.

Hopefully he stays another season or two, keeps on progressing, then goes on to greater things.

I was most surprised and dissapointed the other evening to watch a program on Sky about Lionel Messi and how he was better than Maradonna. After seeing a few preview ads about it being about a player even better than Maradonna I naturally assumed it would be about Zaha, bloody Sky and their false advertising. Of course using the seasonally adjusted and inflation proof valuation applying the Luckworth-Dewis method he is of course currently valued at £1.15 Billion although that could rise according to the level of bullshit coming out of Selhurst Park.

We don't want him though.

They. Won't. Believe. Us.

If i was to make one sensible post on this thread it would be asking the lines you make. But the Palace posters on here genuinely cannot perceive that we would not want their star player. Odd really as we were happy to let last seasons star player go.
