When will these " travellers " be moved on, they are turning it into a mud bath whilst the police just sit there watching.

What do you expect the police to do, out of interest?

Wild Park... is that not just Scoomb?

The state of the central reservations along Lewes road should be more of a concern, truely shocking over grown and look awful although only matches the surroundings.

The real issue is that the travellers will only go where they can earn money, and Brighton residents, not in the Wild Park/Moulsecoomb area will pay out for rubbish clearance, dodgy gardening, tarmac, etc.

Trust me on this one, Dover has no such issues with the travelling community, because there is no money there and therefore no work for them.

All you have to do, so I'm told, is to drive an empty hearse onto, around and off the site, and the next day, no more pikeys

Why not do what you would do if I parked there ......

Check all of their vehicles, I am sure you would get the tow trucks in to put my car in the compound and why not see if they wear their seatbelts and if they use their mobile phones whilst driving.

We are all exposed to this, but as you say 'what do you expect us to do' its a mindset you afford only to travellers.

I moved to Coldean the Roundway at the top of Wild Park in 1947...then there were just football pitches and Class bowling greens near the Lewes Rd...next to them going towards Falmer was an orchard...Hikers Rest was the pub....nice area...now it seems such a shame that anybody can move in and destroy the area....you try parking up there for a few days....you'd soon be moved!

I believe a blind eye is turned every time they turn up at Wild Park and all the other sites they invade. It suits the council - the police - the do-gooders to give these people there 'rights' to fecking wreck the place. After we have paid to clean the area up (£10,000?) - they will come back like flies on shit. I do not expect anything to be done about this all the time we give them more clout than law abiding residents.

Do your f***ing job. If I was to pull up in my car and was homeless and thought f*** it, I'll park my car here you'd be soon on my case and have me removed but as they've got carvans and mobbed handed you say what do expect us to do.

I expect you muppets to treat everyone the same. Remove the scum.

And that's why I pay my taxes so people like you upholed the law. Leave the joints out and sort it out.

The most curious thing..
You need an injunction and a court order to move them. That takes time.

And no, the council won't want them there as it will cost a fortune to clean up after they have left and the council will have better things to spend their money on - education, social services, highways, rubbish collection etc.

Why is there no Coldean outcry at the presence of these parasites in the same way the match day parking issue raised emotions and do gooding councillors.

Why is that Mrs Lucas welcomes Squatters day in Brighton and you expect the council to move these people on? aren't squatters the same as pikeys?

I think the reason is councillors do not want to rock the boat. Anything for a easy life. My Mum & Dad live in Coldean (Ridge View) and have never had a problem with football parking. They are not really affected by the caravans in Wild Park but do think the council are a fecking waste of space. I only drive past them twice a day but I do get pissed off that they have brand new vans while my own is falling apart----sad I know. A few years ago my missus phoned me saying some 'travellers' were offering to cut a 6ft tree down in my front garden for £80.00. I came home and cut it down in five minutes!

You do not need an injunction to get the the DVLA involved checking their vehicles, the HRMC to check how much tax they pay and the council to see if they litter and the police to target their actions, from speeding within their 'new home' to seatbelts, tyres, etc etc...

It happens to us all that will travel to work tomorrow morning, but alas not to travellers,

We are all exposed to this, but as Edna alluded to, they would rather target the law abiding citizens that go 35 mph in a 30 zone whilst the council hire an army of parking wardens to fleece those that over stay their 'pay and display' ticket.

Its a 'cop' out and Edna is the new age copper that prefers the easy ticket.
