Walton 8 - grew in confidence as game went on. Didn;t really have many truly testing saves to make. slow distribution. But ought to stay in the team
Calderon 6 - in a much better position player deeper
Dunk 7 - almost got it out of the ground. Seemed a bit more niggly than usual
Greer 6 - solid although obviously hates Calderon - could at least look at him sometimes
Joe Bennett 8 - great link up play with KLL. Seemed happier playing deeper
JFC 8 - excellent match, almost pipped Walton for Mom. Terrier
Gardener 5 - did he kick the ball after scoring? Seemed totally invisible to me
Lua Lua 7 - excellent in first half, good in second. Playing in correct position, lovely low fizzing crosses
Texeira 7 - faded but better than recently - more involved
Elliott Bennett 7 - faded but made the difference. Seemed to provide a spark
Baldock - 7 - great runs again, woeful service

Nervy and frequently poor display but much better system with flatter back four. Players seemed to know what is expected of them and managed to survive counter-attacks we would have crumbled against last week. Someone has had a very strong word with Sami. Let's see what happens Saturday.

can not believe how generous those marks are
it was great to win
but it was a poor performance
if 6 is an average championship performance level
than that was at least as low as a 5 overall
so for me
Walton 6 did every thing he could do goalkeeping wise
but no exceptional saves and ponderous in possession
he must have had the lions share of our 40% possession
The backs kept a clean sheet somehow but again
very poor with the ball
5's all round
stand out bad were Gardner again
and JFC for a change
4's for both
best player by a margin tex 7
flashes of ability and 1 good cutback Lua Lua 6

the subs were uniformly Terrible 3 's alround

as I say great to get a result
and you can understand the lack of confidence in the team
but as an experience of watching brighton at the Amex
that was one of the worse for me

Those marking Walton down for being ponderous in possession are missing the fact that he was actually trying to slow the game down. It showed a very mature head on his young shoulders. Many young keepers would have simply rushed when the ball had been passed back to them but he took his time, running down the clock and taking some of the pressure off of us, especially in the second half. Not pretty to watch but effective in what he was aiming to do.

Walton 8 composed competant performance poor distribution at times.
Calderon 6 looked better bejng covered when going forward.
Greer 6 Nothing of note no mistakes
Dunk 7 Another good solid performance
J Bennett 6 caught in posession a few times but overall ok.
E Bennett 7 Covered Calde when he went forward but understahdably tired
Gardner 7.5 Nearly MOM good solid performancs bedt for us by a mile.
JFC 6 Neat and tidy kept everything together
Lua Lua 7 Did his job covering J Bennett well and went wide when attacking great improvement.
Teixeira 6 Very good for 25 mins, good for 25 mins then fades why?
Baldock 6.5 Good performance kept them occupied but received too many attempted high balls.

CMS 6 Ran and harrassed their defence similar to Baldock but received poor service.
Halford n/a tactical sub to use up time.no real impact. 1 good header 1 poor touch.
