Does anyone else have this problem? You know you get a call about 4.30pm asking something that quite obviously wait until you get home. Bloody irritating.

And then they get all grumpy when you are short with them (normally because your boss is sat opposite and therefore talking about holidays, kids etc is not a good idea).

I had managed to stop her doing it but she's starting again. Very irritating.

A work colleague of mine has it even worse and seems to spend the majority of his time on the phone to the wife.

I don't think your wife has ever phoned me at work, to be honest. Not a problem.

next time she rings at work just reply with

"f*** OFF CHUMP"

....cos you're gonna get it in the neck when you get home anyways!! :)

That's the route I was taking, and will take the next time it rings!!

That will ensure a good week of not being talked to at all! Bliss. :lolol:

Yep my mrs often calls me at work. Usually she gets the hint if I'm only giving monosylabic answers.
Wife "blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah"
Me "yeah"
Wife "blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah"
Me "no"
Wife "blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah"
Me "mmm"
Wife "blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah"
Me...click.

We use text messages mainly, but if we need to talk we send a text asked if / when we'll be available for a chat. All very civilised.

In fairness to my wife, she got the hint eventually and texted. But only after "what's wrong with you, why are you so grumpy" and then hanging up!! :lolol: Explaining that I am grumpy because I'm bored at work and fed up with being asked inane questions at work all in front of my boss apparently does not occur to her!!!

Why do women never recognise the obvious, and always look for something more sinister??

Last time i tried that mine said to me how would you like it if you did not see me for three days !

Unfortunately i gave the incorrect honest answer, Subsequently i never saw on the Monday, nor did i see her on the Tuesday, but by Wednesday the swelling had gone down sufficiently that i could just see out of the corner of the right eye.

Ohhhh, what gets on my nerves is I often go to Tesco's or similar for lunch. Which is normally between 1.00-1.30. She knows I do this. However, often, and I mean often, she'll ring at 4.30-4.45, when I'm incredibly busy trying to finish jobs off and ask me if I can go and get her something from Tesco's, EVEN THOUGH she knows I went a few hours early during peak time! Very, very frustrating.

I get exactly that - she also phones at really quiet times when everyone in the office can hear what I am saying then she gets the hump when I don't say much (because everyone is listening!!!)

Mine doesn't phone because she is interested in what i do. Its becasue she needs to tell me the dustmen put the wheelie bin back the wrong way round, or something equally important.

That's the measure of the creature called "woman"!!

The problem is if they don't phone you within ten minutes of getting home you'll hear it all anyway, which is almost just as annoying!!

Last night I got home and she had to tell me about something that had happened to do with my son, a neighbour came round and the same story was recounted to said neighbour, then after the neighbour left she went through the same story AGAIN analysing the neighbours reaction!!

Jeez!!
