Wickham recalled by Sunderland

Disrespectful, or just doing his job?

Personally, I go for the latter.

Whenever we get a new manager, we are ALWAYS trawling through their former club(s) to try and identify who they will go back and get. So, why are so many people surprised when it happens the other way round?

How many posts were on Nsc last July when Oscar came here predicting that we'd get half of Barcelona's youth and some from Tel Aviv too?

Was Wizard being serious?

I thought it was a joke. Surely no one could be annoyed at a different club's manager trying to improve their team?

What have Bridcutt, Buckley & Ulloa really added to the team in the last 2 or 3 months ? Not done too bad without them and think it may be time for some fresh blood, they're all Gus players and I'm now more excited at the prospect of Oscar and Burke identifying their new targets to fit his team. Confident they could make the transfer income go a long way.

I'd love Forest to miss out on promotion - perhaps we can make sure that happens on the final day of the season. What must their wage bill be like?

The size of the bid is disrespectful to us, it is not a fair offer and by not coming forward with something more acceptable and not withdrawing either, it has damaged us.
No problem if he stumps up what he is worth.

As long as he pays what TB wants I have no problem with Gus taking players that would rather play for him anyway. I don't like it but it's just the way life is. Once this is all sorted we'll be able to move on. Poyet is a big shadow hanging over the club at the moment, can't wait for it to clear.

The offers being made are not being made by Gus, we need to stop taking it so personally. Sunderland will be trying to get players as cheap as possible we will want as much as possible, hopefully there will be a middle ground that suits both clubs.

It's called negotiation.

I can't say I'd be that thrilled if the Albion were going up to clubs and offering whatever valuation the seller had put on the player first up.

Connor Wickham would be a massive statement of intent IMO. Not sure how he would play with Ulloa is the only thing, as it would seem a lot of money for someone who is going to be second choice? So not happening or there is an big offer for Ulloa from someone?

My money is on nothing to do with us...

Ulloa may not always be first choice. He may not be as sharp after his injury, or may go through a lean spell. A lot of people presume Ulloa will always be the first name on the teamsheet but I am not so sure

Sunderland paid north of 12 million quid for Steven Fletcher from a then Championship club Wolves. Pay us what our players are worth you north-east bast...

You can say that about all of our players - Orlandi, KLL, Bruno etc. The fact is if Bridcutt, Barnes, Buckley, Ulloa and El-Abd all leave in this window the heart would be ripped out of the side and it would take a miracle of biblical proportion for the season not to be over.
