I know this has been mentioned before but if we get a better service without the ads could you not put a small annual charge on the use of NSC. Obviously depending on the actual charge I would be prepared to make an annual/ monthly payment. Friends re-united charge £5 per year.

Why would you want to pay, when it makes a profit now?

Unless I have misread it the reason that it runs at a profit is because of the ads. If they were taken off, so as to give us a better service, where would the income come from.

I bet the people having trouble have old under-powered computers.

Mine is 3 years old so if that is old so be it, but I am not going to change it until it is needed as it serves my purpose on most occassions.

It's only making a profit ongoing, since I've put the Google ads on the site. Before I did that, my estimate is NSC was losing £20 per month. It would be losing around £70 per month if it were not for the $110/month payment for the small text ads at the very bottom of every page. For what they get the money seems rather generous so I expect it to end at any time.

Well the one I'm on is about 5 months old.

I think the thing is the ads need to stay. For those who are experiencing issues can either block them until Bozza works a way around (or google does) at which time we can unblock them or, they can endure having to close and open and new browser each time it happens (which is what I was doing). As it stands there are a dozen or so other income earning ads which I can see on each page which cause no issue so hopefully they will provide income until the issue is resolved.

With that amount of revenue coming in we could put in a bid for Northern Rock as long as it could be renamed NorthStandChat Rock.
