According to the radio Wednesday were due to play Peterboro at home and once they said that all their home games were off over christmas Peterboro offered to host the game as they haven't played each other yet and Wednesday turned it down

You say they may have better players when they come to play the games, but they'll be playing so many games they may be forced to rotate players or may get a bunch of injuries that wouldn't have affected them over Xmas.

Could they not have repaired them. Would you have waited 7 - 10 days to repair yours if it happened. Will be interesting to see if they do bring players in immediately the window opens. What we must remember is that Mandaric is a devious character so much so that he is waiting to go to court on tax evasion charges so is not against playing the system and rules to suit himself.

The temperature up in the frozen northern wastelands has only returned to above freezing in the last 2 or 3 days before that there was a period of nearly four weeks where the temperatures were seriously below zero. Another problem with frozen pipes is that they can crack and until it thaws you don't know where the leaks are. Hillsborough is a very old stadium and like many big clubs who have dropped down the leagues they will have tried to save money on maintenance and repairs.

In fairness to BG, Man City had the same problem over the holiday and hired temporary toilets in at 24 hours notice.
Now I know Wednesday are skint but are they that broke or was it really very convenient to do nothing?
I also suspect that they took advantage of the situation but in the circumstances I suspect most clubs would do the same.

Owls make St Ledger enquiry

Owls make St Ledger enquiry
Posted 29/12/10 12:49

St Ledger was left out of Preston's matchday squad for Tuesday's defeat by Middlesbrough, sparking rumours over his future at Deepdale.

Reports have claimed that West Brom have lined up a £2million bid for St Ledger, who has not featured for Preston for over a month.

Ferguson insists the Baggies have not made an approach for the Republic of Ireland international, but he did confirm interest from his predecessor Alan Irvine at Sheffield Wednesday.

"I've heard the rumours that Sean is on his way, but he's no different than anyone else," said Ferguson in the Lancashire Evening Post.

"He has accepted that Leon Cort and Wayne Brown have come in and done really well.

"Sean was complaining about a sore knee and groin in training on Monday, although he did do the full session.

"I had a decision to make and I made it. He is no different than anyone else in that he has to fight his way back into the team.

"We have had one enquiry for Sean, from Sheffield Wednesday, but that's it."

Really not that bothered about Wednesday. Well beatable at times.

I think they will lose at Huddersfield for starters although the way things have gone for us , expect a draw and a couple of sendings off
